You don't control what I post or what Kendrick raps about and never will. Take the fake outrage elsewhere, I'm not buying that fake trash. Just like you can’t stop the criticism of gay people about man's usage of f-slur and you never will. But by your own words, you can *keep crying* about their criticism and add few more posts to your already +50 count in the thread. And the posts i quouted were response to Cutthroat and he didn't mention Morgan anywhere in his posts so you are the only one with fake trash excuses here. Edited May 13, 2022 by Artistofthedecade

Y’all are being gaslit and it’s really sad. I honestly didn’t expect people would be grasping at straws to defend this pretending that “context” is ok. We all know that other marginalized communities get extended far more empathy when people use slurs against them in any “context”, and despite the exact same logic, people want to gaslit LGBTQ+ people into thinking it’s “not the same.” It’s the exact same logic whether people want to admit it or not. It’s so disheartening to read people grasping at straws to defend this, as well as people having to defend why they’re offended by the use of a slur used seven times. .

Even the white gays too

SO powerful.
Butters Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 (edited) The ending of the song where it says "let's say the eff-word (idk why its censored) together" and brings up the hypocrisy of him not letting that white girl rap the n-word is kinda awks cause isn't him using the eff-word repeatedly throughout the song implicitly giving permission for whites to use the n-word then? It muddles whatever point he was trying to make. I'm not really sure what his stance is. Is it supposed to be ambiguous? Overall I really don't care because the song is good and I like its overall narrative/story but others have the right to be offended. Edited May 13, 2022 by Butters
fauxtography Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 imma need mackelmore to come back with one of his woke songs using the N word to watch some of you apologists scramble

Into The Void Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Idk about this situation but if a white person repeated the n word in a song and then said why it was not ok to say it would get blasted. Its not the same if course but does the f slur need to be said to make the pt come across. Idk.

Neither term should be used by anyone outside of their respective communities. This is a simple point and I'm not sure why many are struggling to grasp it.

What does this have to do with white people? He is literally the one comparing both words in HIS song The song misses its whole point if he actually ends up saying it. I don't know why some are acting dense on purpose, if some people aren't offended that's fine, but some of you aren't going to gaslight us into being ok with it. He isn't going to face any repercusions, not that I am asking for them, but yeah it's simply pointless if he actually says it and that's my opinion as well as many others in the thread, including poc. WestHaven Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 He should’ve just omitted the word. Any purpose it serves in the song is nullified by the word’s understood meaning regardless of context. That being said, I don’t see any reason to burn him at the stake for an attempt at a positive gesture
selena_lavigne Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 so, i think the song has good moments but littering it with that slur was unnecessary and i am just left puzzled.
Death On Two Legs Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 I don’t understand why he had to rap the slur three times?? The message is positive, however.

Ferret Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 This drama over a word. Kim theres people that are dying
BobBertran1992 Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Yeah, even though his intentions are good, his usage of THAT slur and his wrong use of pronouns ruin the purpose of the song. Also, the narrative ''My auntie is a man now'' is kinda tiresome (he was always a man).

Sesame Posted May 13, 2022 Posted May 13, 2022 Why is Kendrick, a straight man allowed to say it, when on ATRL gay people aren’t allowed to say it to reclaim the word?
