Ice Cream Skies Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 (edited) Because a lot of rap is lyrically centered around power, crime, and violence? Easy answer there, SZA. Edited May 12, 2022 by Ice Cream Skies
PoisonedIvy Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 (edited) She’s right, watching the ending of YOU Season 3 on Netflix was shocking because of the juxtaposition from the onscreen murder with Taylor’s “exile” playing also rap music seriously needs to stop being used as the de facto accompaniment for crimes in shows and movies Edited May 12, 2022 by WeFoundTrouble

Pop music is pretty inundated with anthems about power and empowerment - especially from female singers. Rock and heavy metal also has a lot of crime/violence-based themes.

Read a book. Still has nothing to do with racism, not liking a genre =/= not liking people doing it ATRL and their far-left obsessions once again
