mlaredoperez Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 BLENDER & Flatline should have been the lead and second single respectively. There's too much falsetto though, it sounds unpleasant at times.

Tbh yeah, this album definitely suffers from having so many songs, similarly to Youngblood. I do think it’s better than Youngblood, but it won’t beat CALM for me. Still a very good album tho! Rocket0212 Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 On track 8 and this is so boring so far. CALM was actually the first project from them I liked and it was a step in the right direction. But here we go again in 2022 with bland H&M music.
camilizer Posted September 23, 2022 Posted September 23, 2022 CALM is their worst project.. The show was amazing last night, wish they sang more of the album but it was fine. As always they performed well
Lyrical Liar Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 (edited) Overall, I definitely prefer CALM to this but the boys had sooo much fun making this project so I'm happy for them!!! Imo, the more upbeat songs are stronger (and I say this as someone who's a sucker for ballads). My top 3 is Blender, Tears and Bad Omens. Other shout outs: Flatline, Red Line, You Don't Go To Parties, Bloodhounds and Caramel. Honestly didn't really care for the singles much besides Blender. Maybe the album as a whole will grow on me with further listens! Edit: I had to swap out Flatline for Bad Omens. ? Bloodhounds reminds me of the Jonas Brothers/DNCE (Joe's falsettos) Edited September 24, 2022 by Lyrical Liar
Lyrical Liar Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Bad Omens aaaah, it gets better with every listen.
DancingShoes Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 Finally made it through every other release today so I can now dive in!
DancingShoes Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 It's a great album but it's a bit bloated. Releasing the bonus tracks as a companion EP later on would have been a neat idea. Complete Mess is still my least favorite thing here. Bad Omens is a bop and Easy for You To Say is beautiful. Carousel and Take My Hand (beautiful outro) are twins until the bridge. Older is lovely and I want to hear the 50s love song demo. Caramel took my breath away and is easily my favorite thing here followed by Red Line! Flatline sounds like a hit. Bloodhound is kinda hot and Tears! is the most unique thing here, I think. I can see this becoming my favorite album of theirs with a few more listens. It just flows so well together and I like that each member gets their own chance to sing. This feels as if they've finally manage to mix their love of their older pop punk inspired pop music of the first 2 albums with the heavy pop sounds from Youngblood and CALM. It'll be interesting to see where they go from here.
lovethismusic Posted September 24, 2022 Posted September 24, 2022 The last 1 minute of Bad Omens is such a highlight! Emotions is ok too but other than that the album sounds so.. generic.
camilizer Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 do we know how long the bad omens video is

Scandalous Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 solid album but definitely a step down from CALM for me. agree about it just being too bloated with not enough variety to justify it - the bonus tracks are some of the best songs on it tho
as926 Posted September 25, 2022 Posted September 25, 2022 Not sure when some of y’all are hearing bc this is outstanding. Probably my favorite album of theirs to date.

Polgg48 Posted September 26, 2022 Posted September 26, 2022 too many plays on promo/singles and just so tired hearing them on album content especially CM and TMH, that unexpectedly make me like those fillers in mid ( Haze, YDGTP, red-line, bloodhound) more. such a great relaxing album, they correct my assignment and get my pass.
