Hector Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 The following week brings the new album from Columbia superstar Harry Styles, expected to bow with 400-450k as the set’s first single, “As It Was,” racks up mind-bogglingly huge streams. The Jeffrey Azoff-managed Styles scored 10m in global sales on his last set; combined with his insane ticket sales, it’s easy to see why some bizniks call him the biggest act in the world. https://m.hitsdailydouble.com/news&id=331301&title=NEAR-TRUTHS%3A-RECORD-BREAKING Oh wow
More Than A Melody Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 Well, yeah, 9m was making no sense at this point, 10m is more along the lines of what I figured It's so funny because when he first signed his contract with Columbia ($80 million for 3 albums), HDD said he had to sell 15m units/5m units per album and ATRL told me that Harry could never achieve that and it was an insane contract. He has now sold 15m+ units with two albums. If Harry's House does well, I shudder to think what the figures of his next contract will be.
Ribs Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 Yeah I think Fine Line exceeded a lot of predictions, he deserves it for actually giving effort to promote his music

Blackout2006 Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 It is quite crazy because the era kicked off on such a rocky start, and now it has become one of the biggest post-2018 pop eras But as he should though, it is what the biggest current MPB deserves

JCsNumba1Fan Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 (edited) Best MPB era of the decade so far did that, even with two singles and an album released in 2019. Edited May 9, 2022 by JCsNumba1Fan
Squall Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 They said 9 million a month ago, which proves they don't know anything when it comes to WW figures

They didn't say 9,000,000. It just proves that in the past month it moved enough numbers to cross the 10m mark. They mostly get their figures from labels.

Considering it's getting 7M+ streams a day on Spotify alone, yeah, it's extremely likely it crossed the 10m mark in the past month. As I said, they get their figures from labels...

More Than A Melody Posted May 9, 2022 Posted May 9, 2022 3 minutes ago, Green said: They probably fixed their numbers. Fine Line has been getting 7m/6m streams steadily since AIW was released, that alone boosted it by about 150/200K sales worldwide, plus YouTube, Apple Music, other streaming platforms, iTunes, vinyls, other forms of pure sales, etc... it probably sold nearly 500K since they posted that (which was over a month ago), making it cross 10m. It had weeks of 25K in the US alone (plus it returned to top 5/top 10 in other big markets like the UK and Australia). It's not a big mystery.

Please, they don't imply it's above the number, they gave more specific numbers for other artists (ex: 7.7M for IASF, 9.5M for SOUR, etc). Take your stan glasses off, Harry stan; HDD is good for US numbers but that's all. 1 hour ago, Green said: They probably fixed their numbers. They said Damn sold 11M and FN sold 9M. 9.5m is a rounded number... Multiple times they have given rounded numbers. So much pent up aggression over such a stupid subject. Please unclench you're gonna get an ulcer.

Your excuse isn't working, you're just trying to make them accurate about this If it wasn't rounded up to 9.5M, it means it was closer to 9M and there's no way Fine Line sold 600k+ units in a month or so.

You're annoying nitpicking this point. What does it have to do with it being my fave? If I was trying to be a delusional fan I'd be trying to say that because they had it at 9m first and now at 10m, they're probably wrong and it sold more, considering that the album is being streamed 6/7M times A DAY on Spotify alone which is 4.5K copies a day... just from Spotify... plus top 20/30 worldwide on Apple Music basically the entire time it's been out. Plus massively streamed on Amazon, #2 worldwide on vinyl sales in 2021. The album never went below 5m streams a day in 18 months since release. But I'm not doing that, now, am I? I'm assuming they had an approximate number (around 9m, not exactly 9m) and now the label has informed them that it crossed 10m. It's really not that hard to understand. They get their figures from labels, that's that. Please do some therapy because this overreaction to such a stupid statistic is not normal. Too much pent up aggression over nothing, and from the get go too. I'm adding you to my ignore list. Don't even bother replying.
