Curious about the album.

Although it seems she won't have the same level of success she had in the beginning ever again

Can't believe there were no thread for this album before

It's actually very enjoyable even though she went fully pop this time. Some songs were meh (well, she's experimenting), some songs were really great (There Isn't Much is one of her best imo). 'LLTA' still remains my favorite but I need some time to digest the new one as well, maybe it will grow on me a lot :eli:

There Isn't Much should have smashed. It's such a great song!!

I was obsessed with Family for months when it came out, but nothing else on the album really stood out to me other than Ready to Love. I'll have to listen to it again

actually there was one until everything was deleted

OT: unfortunately this album came and went very fast. I've enjoyed some tracks but nothing remains "strong". The only ones I appreciate are: Family, Oxygen and There Isn't Much :dancehall3:

I can't believe they went with Family and LWYD as first singles, they killed all my hype for the album. The 1-2-3 punch of Summer, My Pleasure and TIM was right there waiting:deadbanana2:

Thanks to the the first two singles I had no expectations for this album and I was pleasently surprised. Family should've been the closer, it makes much more sense in that context. There are some of her best songs here, I love Summer and Yes You Can. Great pop with gospel tinges, that's what I love about Emeli. It's not as instantly catchy as Real Life or OVOE, but it's  groser fir sure and a step forward for her artistry.

World Go Round is great closer, i say no more

This album is amazing :jonny:. It should've been the follow-up to LLTA.

I was surprised by how good and fresh this album is  it's full of amazing productions. I was a fan of Real Life but this feels like a return to the more eclectic and chill Emeli :smitten:

I'll try to "rediscover" it soon since the first time it didn't convince me

Oh wow, I went in with kind of low expectations tbh (REAL LIFE never clicked for me) but I'm so impressed  :clap3: I've only listened twice but think I pretty much like almost every song.

this is low-key her best album :jonnycat: I hate how she started to flop with better music than her debut :jonny3:

Okay I really need to sit down and listen to this, but Ready To Love :flame:

"July 25th" is absolutely stunning.

This tea. Look What You've Done is my favourite. July 25th being a sweeping acoustic/orchestral interpretation is much appreciated. World Go Round, Ready to Love, Another One, Superhuman and Wait for Me are my other favourites.

There Isn't Much should be huge.

All this tea! :clap3:

Current personal favourites (in no particular order cause each song is unique in its own way):

  1. July 25th
  2. Look What You've Done (the orchestration and vocal delivery in this one are out of this world!)
  3. There Isn't Much (absolutely stunning career highlight! one of the best songs released so far this year)
  4. Oxygen
  5. Ready to Love

Emeli is SUCH an underappreciated artist it's appalling. I put "artist" in italics cause many claim they are one when they're merely vocalists, unlike Miss Sandé.

Btw, Real Life was a solid effort with some career highlights (read: "Real Life," "Free As a Bird").

She really is one of the best artist/songwriters of this generation.

She really should be huge. Every album has career highlights. Real Life was underappreciated as well; Extraordinary Being, Sparrow, Love to Help, You Are Not Alone.

You know i'm just listening to this for the first time and i think i can live with her not being as successful as she was with OVOE if this is the result. This is some of her best music in years, she seems happy. She's got herself a new girlfriend, she came out and it's showing. "Summer" is gorgeous.  She deserves more recognition but she seems ok without it.
