Not sure, but I think it was pretty obvious to anyone who's not a delusional hater that she would be around for the long-run during the TFM era. Bad Romance was too much of an event for her to end up not being a legend

Bad Romance tbh

Shallow cemented it for her though

During the star is born era.

When she had that iconic Grammys performance with Metallica

N/A. Sorry! When I think of “legends” I think of the Beatles, Elton John, Queen, Michael Jackson, Prince, U2, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner, Madonna, Whitney Houston, AC/DC, Nirvana, Tupac, Run DMC, etc etc etc etc. Imagine listing Lady Gaga among those artists :rip:

A Star Is Born. Probably the Oscars night. She had the 1-2-3 punch of basically being the star of the Oscars that evening: the best actress nomination, the best original song win, and the iconic live performance. It was a huge repeak and shift in her career from just being a pop star to also becoming a (respected) Hollywood celebrity.

She made all the right moves necessary in the preceding 5-6 years to make that night even possible. She ended ARTPOP having made horrible decisions, with everyone ruling her out. She suddenly shifted to Jazz music with Tony and performed several high-profile live performances including the Sound Of Music tribute and Til It Happens to you at the Oscars, Metallica/David Bowie Tribute/Cheek To Cheek at the Grammys, Million Performances, and the Superbowl performance to showcase her talent and versatility. She ventured into AHS and won a major acting award in that role. She also toned down her crazy outfits and behaviour and released Joanne, which was a lot more classy with a Gaga twist on it. Then she played a pivotal role to wrote and performed the soundtrack to ASIB and showed the acting chops--both elements needed to bring that project the acclaim it did.

All of these steps were necessary and essentially culminated in people taking her seriously enough to award these accolades she got that night. The Oscars won't just give anyone that level of attention--she worked hard to prove herself every step of the way. So that's why I think that night solidified her as a legend. The triple punch of a hit song, a hit movie (i.e. general public respect), and the awards recognition... very few people in history are able to achieve this all at once.

You summed it up perfectly :clap3:

This. She will never be mentioned is the same breath.

Shemade a big splash when she debuted, made a name for herself and admirably managed to get another moment of interest with acting after years of floppage, but that's it.

She is an icon and will forever be one for what she's acieved. But a legend she is not, nor will ever be. Only her deluled stans think otherwise :rip:

I think "Shallow." It was her "I Will Always Love You" moment. She became more than a successful pop star. She became a multi-talented star that could use all her different talents to create moments that deeply resonated with not only her fans, but the GP.

Go up to people in real life, not little monsters on the internet, and say Lady Gaga is in the same category/stratosphere as those artists, and I bet 90%+ of those people would laugh hysterically :rip:

I know you really want to make a point here, but comparing gaga to people who had their career peaks over 2 decades ago is corny. I never even said if I think gaga is a legend or not, but your post reads as something I'd hear a 50-year old man say when ranting about how "MUSIC AINT WUT IT USED TO BE!"

asib, since after ahs it proved she's also a great actress

in retrospect, bad romance

It’s either that, or I can be delusional and say “her meat dress changed da world! That’s when she became a LEGEND” :rip:which would you prefer. Because in the minds of everybody not on ATRL, they’d probably agree with me

ASIB and even HOG helped her become one of the most acclaimed and respected artist.

There is probably no artist around currently that is more demanded than Gaga. Many big musicians want to collab with her, she probably has options for her next lead role on her desk, she is composing the Soundtrack for one of the biggest movies of the year with the legend Hans Zimmer, she is going on a worldwide stadium tour and has a highly successful Vegas residency ...

Only a few artist achived all of that.

Hit the nail on the head. However, none of this would’ve been possible without TFM era opening the doors to her potential legend status. Key moments were Bad Romance release, it’s music video, and her domination of the 2010 VMAs.

For her fans it is probably when she released The Fame Monster I guess. For the gp, I don't think I have heard anyone calling her a legend yet but who knows... she might surprise us in the near future.
