The problem with the MET Gala isn’t the clothes, it’s that it is no longer an elite affair. TikTok dancers and YouTube makeup sellers being among the guests has cheapened the whole thing and kind of ruined it.

nah i can see why. back then, celebs didn't treat it like a cosplay event. they just looked nice. following the theme wasn't even a strict requirement. also they're not the stars of the museum's collection.
