applestar Posted May 2, 2022 Posted May 2, 2022 I wonder if public perception will change once Amber testifies, highly doubt it Wish more ppl would do their research before jumping to conclusions... a relationship between two A listers is not going to be your avg relationship...

Everyone's decided she's guilty already, to the point where no amount of evidence (some of which has already been pointed out) will not convince them otherwise. They always have an excuse for any evidence against him.

This is also the result of pent up frustration, people have been holding back and pretending to care about victims when it comes to #MeToo, people being called out for misogyny etc and it feels like it's all coming to a head tbh. This case is the perfect combination of factors for people to channel their misogyny into. I'm not claiming Amber is a great person, nor even a good person, but the way this case has been twisted so much is scary. The way it's been turned into memes and "savage" moment edits, the desensitisation to the seriousness of domestic violence showing through... is scary. I was in an emotionally abusive relationship, and I would tell people nothing triggered me and nothing did until this case and the reaction to it. Seeing people defend abusive actions on his end or justify/downright ignore them, how they twist things, and how they talk about/post about the case is triggering as hell. And it's all anyone can talk about, whilst being uninformed about the case itself. Someone I know said "she admitted to shitting in the bed and said she thought it would be a funny joke!" like, no she didn't, she never said that. People just parroting information with no research. Yeah its annoying me how female assault cases barely gets attention but when a famous male is *potentially* a victim too, the public IMMEDIATELY latches to it like crazy now ofc everyone is gonna ignore anything that implicates Johnny too because they’ve decided this is the perfect opportunity for the “see!! Women are abusive too!!” narrative

Like at worst, the general attitude is passive dislike but with her people HATE her. Men like Chris Brown still have sizeable hardcore fanbases, and him and others (like Mel Gibson etc) will still have you met with "I'm sure he's changed" or "It's been so long though"... passive.

oilheiress Posted May 6, 2022 Posted May 6, 2022 He's not wrong tbh, I can't help but think the powerful menses that got upset by the metoo movement as well as the not so powerful ones from the GP that thought the movement was taking it 'too far' are riding this case hard and are hell bent on proving Heard is evil as a way of setting a precedent and making sure victims are never believed again or at best strongly doubted basically the way it used to be prior to the movement
