1989 Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 Not surprised. However, even if most of atrl doesn’t like her, we should respect her as a human being and use the correct pronouns. I’ll continue to use they, and also go back to using she, too.

Which in itself is kind of sad; if people were only using Demi's preferred pronouns because they were under threat, then was the "respect" even real? Edited April 29, 2022 by Sugar-Rush
Robert Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 People bragging about not respecting her/their pronouns Gender is fluid, just be respectful.

A reverse Elon musk for sure Well if it was an accident then my bad but misgendering someone regardless if they’re a public figure is still wrong there’s still a gender non conforming community on this forum as well who wouldn’t appreciate that kind of behaviour
Aquamarine Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 The disturbing transphobia in here is- a lot Hope something is done about this. OT: Happy for her and I hope they're finally successful on their journey of self-discovery (I assume she doesn't mind both being used at the same time?).
RunBoyRun Posted April 29, 2022 Posted April 29, 2022 If any of you were ever bi-curious but decided you were only straight or gay or whatever.... nope. You were doing the bi thing for clout. I could give a million other examples but even when they said they were non-binary, they said it was fluid. Which it is.

Its totally transphobic in my opinion and a disrespect to those who actually struggle Isn’t the whole point of pronouns for every person to express what they feel their gender identity is? mom not coming at you I’m genuinely curious.

A lot of us don't really understand it, or even suspect some people, in particular celebs, identify as such for attention and clout, and yet we are FORCED to entertain it and use the words they want us to use out of fear of being punished if we don't comply (whether is by calling us hateful, banning us, etc). I also STRONGLY reject the idea that not agreeing or understanding non-binary is transphobia. Being TRANS has NOTHING to do with being non-binary. Non-binary is the actual rejection of the gender binary, which doesn't come from nowhere; it's based on biology and genetics (only two types of chromosomes X and Y). Being non-binary is more a political statement rather than a state of being in my opinion.

Since when does non-binary=trans, they are not the same thing. As someone with a trans sister I find it so disgusting and ridiculous for you to even compare the 2. It really trivialises the struggles trans people face by throwing this word around. Furthermore, you can support non-binary people like many in this thread do while having your own separate views on Demi.
loveisdead9582 Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 I mean… I have done my best to use everyone’s preferred pronouns, but I can’t say I’m surprised. I think Demi is trying to figure out exactly who Demi is, and I have a feeling we will see Demi go through a bunch of other identity changes.
Thinking Of You Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 She is a hot mess I’m still pumped for the music though
vuelve88 Posted April 30, 2022 Posted April 30, 2022 I’m shocked that the frozen yogurt protestor would make a decision like this.
