I already explained that it's almost painful how much I have to trick my own mind into thinking that what my eyes are seeing and my ears are hearing isn't reality. For the purpose of what's socially acceptable, I'd still call them for whatever pronouns they prefer, I'd make that effort. But it DOES require a lot of effort.

But most of you guys sound like you just invalidate their gender because you don't like them. Literally how the yoghurt shop incident relevant here?

 

I don't like Demi either but I'm not going to drag them for their gender. I firmly believe people are allowed to change their gender and pronouns as they see fit, so I'm not going to belittle Demi's gender just because they are annoying or problematic.

Ultimately this entire cultural moment surrounding pronouns is extremely annoying both by those who think it’s edgy to refer to someone by pronouns that they don’t go by (half of y’all in here) and those who seek virtue by correcting people who accidentally use the wrong pronouns (the other half of y’all in here). It’s so chronically online and unproductive.

 

At the end of the day, Demi is someone who fits under the GSM umbrella and she has the right to express that however she chooses to, even if it means someday she just goes by she/her alone. It’s pretty sad how y’all use her as a scapegoat for obvious transphobia and disdain for gender non-conforming people.

I said this in another thread about Demi, but I'll say it again - half of the gays (if not more) on ATRL had a bisexual phase growing before settling with the gay label fully. But somehow Demi figuring out their pronouns and gender identity and changing their mind overtime is hard to understand? Please.
