Especially when he gets lauded and applauded for saying and displaying things ACTUAL queer people have to suffer (Sam Smith and Lil Nas for instance and MANY more).

Blowing this up so everyone can read it again :cm:

So you agree he is an ally, and therefore straight :cm:

Wait, but now I'm confused because we've been told by another one of his stans in this very thread that Harry Styles isn't straight

so which one is it Harry stans? :cm:

honestly what's so hard about saying you only like women? forget the "straight" label

look at bad bunny he explicitly says he's only been with women BUT "never say never"

and wears feminine clothing WAY better but i digress

that's not viral :skull: and these weird people who think they own being queer and have invented these rules that everybody needs to abide by need to shut up and sit down

Literally look at most Lil Nas/Sam Smith/Billy Porter threads (on Twitter too) and you will see gays bashing them for being themselves and Harry Styles gets endless viral tweets praising him for being revolutionary, pushing gender norms, being a risk taker, etc for wearing dresses in photoshoots and magazine covers, not even in daily life. :toofunny3:

Well lemme tell you, Harry Styles will never f*ck you. Give it up missy.

I'm sorry, but I can't take these critics seriously when they are the same people constantly calling Shawn Mendes a ****** despite the numerous times he's said otherwise.

The hypocritical outrage is not surprising from Atrl :eddie:

God I hope he NEVER addresses his sexuality.

People are so ******* invasive these days, they want to strip everyone’s personal space.

He can live his truth gay, bi or straight in the way he wants to.

He is free, I hope he never gives in into the gatekeepers.

Its so hilarious how ACTUAL gay people don't see the problem here :skull:

This is his dating history + he has NO PROBLEM singing about eating p*ssy, talking about preferring older women, and not dating anyone but cis women for an eternity. But when it's about men suddenly its crickets and "I hate labels. Labels are ew! I don't wanna label my sexuality! We should all be free! <333" bullsh*t.

You can like his music (I do love both his debut and Fine Line) and still find this icky and kinda gross. Especially when he gets lauded and applauded for saying and displaying things ACTUAL queer people have to suffer (Sam Smith and Lil Nas for instance and MANY more). Like are yall really that blind omg. :rip:

i can't help but see harry style defenders as pick me gays/girls tbh

The thing is he really doesn’t need to justify himself in anyway.

This is the same ******* thing that telling a woman what to wear and do on stage.

It’s not okay, really.

But someone doesn't need to date a specific gender to be queer :rip: Why do you think that being queer exists only within certain parameters that you have invented? Why do you think you have the authority to decide if somebody is queer or part of the LGBTQ+ community based on who they have publicly dated and how they publicly label themselves? :deadbanana2: It's so weird

His queerbaiting is hinting at he himself being queer

people ask him about his sexuality all the time, it's not something he brings up himself he just chooses to keep it private and we should all respect that

i don't know what he is and i really don't care (it's not like he's gonna sleep with me :cm:) but it's clear he's friendly towards the LGBTQ+ community and that should be enough

The irony of people on ATRL saying that Harry gets praised while Lil Nas gets criticised, when it's people on this site more than anywhere that criticise and throw negativity towards Lil Nas :rip: He has been overwhelmingly embraced by the GP and the mainstream media

Those supporting him would DRAG the **** out of anyone else if they behaved like Harry Styles does. Hypocrisy at its finest, yet again.

They are asking him to address his sexuality in public which is 10x worse.

but what you are essentially saying is "if you are going to continue wearing dresses, you owe us an explanation on how you identify!" when the reality is... he doesn't. Some of y'all just have no idea what boundaries are and your brain cells have been fried by the echo chamber of social media

Yeah, Harry is the victim in all of this. :toofunny2:

We are not entitled to know that (or anything else!) about him, but he is the one parading around in queer aesthetics while not being up front about wheter or not he is (OR ISN'T) part of the QUEER community. Have you ever asked yourself why that is?

Some of his own stans have slipped the potential main reason in this very thread yet y'all still fail to give it the proper attention. Why?

Yall remember all this energy with nick Jonas saying he's not 100 percent sure and flirting with liking men then he marries Priyanka Chopra which put the end to all of that stuff? ?

Posted

He knows the second he comes out as part of the LGBTQ+ community he would lose 90% of the girls that love to fantasize with having a chance. At the same time, if he comes out as straight, his entire “I’m quirky and have queer aesthetics” personality would start to look awkward.

I am not deciding who is queer and who is not and I am not gatekeeping queerness :rip: I am just annoyed that his ambiguousness and his whole "I am not labeling myself!" shtick makes it seem like he is a part of the queer community while he's profiting of the millions of years of struggles that we have endured (and still do) as a community. Its cringey, gross marketing.

It's almost as if the people within the community have also been affected by all the negative stereotypes of queer people (more specifically queer men in this case) imposed by the cishet majority, fail to proccess those stereotypes resulting in internalized homophobia and maybe don't realize that before hitting the ''Submit Reply" button. :bam:
