Uncatena Posted September 11, 2023 Posted September 11, 2023 finally watched this... I went in kind of skeptical (maybe because of the hype) but it deserves every bit of praise it got. its STUNNING, the sets, the cinematography and performances are all top notch, and its really funny at times, but also very sentimental. I cried like a baby during the montage at the end.
PopMusicJunkie Posted September 14, 2023 Posted September 14, 2023 I’m really disappointed with the lack of bloopers, extended, or deleted scenes. Other than that, the movie is perfection.
Miles. Posted September 18, 2023 Posted September 18, 2023 (edited) I finally watched this yesterday and I really liked it! It was funny, moving, intelligent, emotional, and very clearly got its point across. I did think it was rather surface level (a few of my female friends found it underwhelming as they didn't take anything new from it), but that's okay. This is a movie for the general public, and clearly it's resonating with a lot of people. I'm glad this is a 1.4B dollar film. I hope a lot of people (men) are learning things or are thinking about things differently because of it. I hope it continues to shift our culture further in a positive direction. Eóghan Posted September 19, 2023 Posted September 19, 2023 woW what a fantastic movie i rented it and I ended up ordering the Blu-ray just now (which is out next year why not this christmas season? warner is so dumb) anyway i know a classic when I see one and this will age like fine wine for decades to come. i always supported this project but I'm not a fan of greta gerwig's work in general, so I just waited to check it out at home. now I'm kinda bummed that it's not in the cinemas near me anymore. oh well. ps: the way I felt so attacked when bbc's "pride & prejudice" showed up because it's the only thing that can cure me from deep depression ever since I saw it in high school 15 years ago. I have both dvd and bluray boxset that wip out at least once a year when I feel really low of low
Konril Posted October 7, 2023 Posted October 7, 2023 Hmmm... The opening was great but the middle part dragged on too long, I felt like its pacing was horrible. Great ending though with Billie song. Reminds me of my problem with Beau is Afraid, absolutely loved the opening and ending but just tuned out in the middle. Babylon is still my favorite Margot movie.
PopMusicJunkie Posted October 8, 2023 Posted October 8, 2023 Physical release update: 10/17 Again, my only gripe no gag reel or deleted scenes included.
réveuse Posted November 10, 2023 Posted November 10, 2023 I watched the barbie movie a week ago and I loved it! It was so good.
Hurem Posted November 11, 2023 Posted November 11, 2023 Billie deserves to win every category she was nominated in
jjmed59 Posted November 12, 2023 Posted November 12, 2023 just finished watching it for the second time since seeing it opening night and whew i was BOREDT now i know i was drunk, but i do NOT remember the pacing being this awful????? definitely not as rewatchable as i remembered.
kishi Posted December 7, 2023 Posted December 7, 2023 Just finished watching it on a plane ride to New York. It was hilarious! I was not expecting to see three actors from Sex Education. I went in blind not knowing the plot and I think the movie did a great job of keeping it light, but it clearly has some progressive undertone, which I'm ok with. I really liked stereotypical Barbie, Weird Barbie, Gloria and the Mattel CEO. Really strong ensemble casting.
