My bewilderment isnโt that the film exists on paper, but that someone agreed to a $100m budget, including those massive pay checks for Margot and Ryan, and a marketing budget to match. ย ย

Being at the festival of Cannes like warner has made for blockbusters from tarantino, luhrmann or Scorsese. Certainly wasn't the teaser The only thing the teaser trailer did was showโฆ.that this is a live action Barbie starring a hot Hollywood starlet that relied heavily on A Space Odyssey gag to sell itself as a comedy. ย How are adult audiences sitting down to Avatar not openly either thinking itโs a family movie because itโs Barbie, or not openly scoffing in general? Like I said this new trailer needs to do a lot of heavy lifting to sell whatever the story / comedy is. Who knows maybe it can pull a Mama Mia against The Dark Knight, weโll see (I doubt it).

Alfred Posted April 1, 2023 Posted April 1, 2023 Canโt wait for full trailerย ย i feel like this movie will be camp with strong emotional relevancy/meaningful undertonesย

Ticket to Paradise had 2 stars with huge salaries and grossed $172M against a $60m budget ย Barbie feels a bigger release than this too so maybe it could push to 230-275M. Although I will say that Julia and George have more of a box office draw than Margot and Ryan
Gui Blackout Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 movie of the decade, I don't see other outcome
Hephaestus Posted April 4, 2023 Posted April 4, 2023 When you think about it, it's actually insane that Trixie doesn't have a role in thisย
