ldk. Maybe l got so overhyped by the movie. It was awkward to see someone sleeping on the theatre and some were looking nonchalant. But some were really enjoying the film as I could hear their laughs & giggles. I admit I laughed at some of the jokes in the movie. I feel like the storyline fell flat. The actors did a great job, however, esp. Ryan Gosling. Love the visuals too. The Kens' dance scene and the scene where they played Billie's song were the highlights for me.

Still can't believe the GP (including women's) take away from this film is that "Ryan Gosling stole the show" :deadbanana2:

Talk about ironic

Rewatched it last night! Here are my thoughts:

The Ken musical was TOO long. Unnecessarily long. They could’ve shorten it.

Why was the Ken musical longer than the Ruth Handler (God/Creator) and Barbie scene? I felt that emotional scene was too rushed. They should’ve picked a more emotional singer for that song as well. Also, they went from this to a ****** joke too quickly IMO.

I feel like they gave the standout moments to Ken :deadbanana: which is ironic to the movies theme. The patriarchy scene, the musical, the Kenough sweatshirt, the horse walk back to the mojo doja casa house :deadbanana2:, the little swag walk he does. Can’t really think of a Barbie scene that had people reacting as hard.

America Ferreira’s monologue was good but it was too on the nose. Kinda corny at bits. I think they should’ve had Barbie have this realization and go off in a monologue/rant.

I cackled so hard at Midge djejejejejjejeje. Will Ferrel had some funny lines.

Kate McKinnon’s delivery of every line was INCREDIBLE! My God she was easily one of, if not, my favorite of this movie. So much fun.

Simu Liu is so attractive. Need him. Acting was good but not outstanding since he didn’t have much to work with.

I thought we would’ve had more real world scenes

Margot Robbie is stunning and showed so much talent in this movie

The teenage daughter was annoying

Issa Rae was such a highlight for me. Her few lines were everything. “That’s because it’s a Dreamhouse MF”

but yea I wish there were more Real world scenes and more of the Barbie and Ruth “God x Human” scene

The movie was enjoyable. Funny and fashionable. Perfect summer event and im sad it’s over! Summer is officially OVER!

8/10

One of my FAVE things about the Barbie movie experience was the sense of a community. I’ve never seen this with a film before. This was probably better than the movie itself.

Most people showed up in pink (saw a lot of Eras tour merch too ddd). Random strangers would go up to me and start talking about things or compliment me just because I was wearing pink :laugh:My waiter at the restaurant I went to before the movie was like “damn everyone’s wearing pink for that new movie huh” it was cute lol

We need more experiences like this in the entertainment industry. Actual events

it's doing great in my country as well :jonny6:

Barbie is a big hit in Dutch cinemas. The film, which has been running in theaters since Wednesday, has already attracted 250,000 visitors within four days, according to distributor Warner Bros. This number includes the visitors from the special Ladies Nights organized in dozens of cinemas on Tuesday evening.

"The film exceeds all expectations," said a Warner Bros. spokesperson. "We have received reports from many theaters that they have scheduled extra screenings to meet the demand. Comparisons are being drawn with the mania caused by the Harry Potter films."

Barbie is on track to become the best opening weekend of 2023. Currently, this record belongs to the Mario Bros. film, which drew nearly 390,000 people in the first five days. The comedy starring actress Margot Robbie in the titular role is now playing in 161 cinema halls in the Netherlands.

Loved this movie.  It’s a 10/10 for me.  Probably one of the most ambitious films I have seen Hollywood make in a long time.  I have more thoughts, but don’t want to spoil anything for anyone.  Overall, I laughed, cried, laughed again and will be watching again.

Finally saw this. Didn’t love it as much as I was hoping for. Actually found the first half boring but really enjoyed the last 30min or so which were the most ridiculous parts. Overall solid movie, far from being great, and will definitely watch it again at some point

I loved it! What a brilliant film. So campy, silly and fun whilst having a great heart and message. Bravo! 10/10.

Such a fun carefree movie, sure some things were oversimplified when it comes to the whole men/women power position in the real world thing but overall such a great experience

and the fact that everyone from girls who came with their female friends,

straight couples to parents with kids and us gays were dressed in pink was just amazing, this movie is truly an EVENT

most of the merch being Ken gyfdhidljsnkam I feel like the attention on Ken kinda goes against the movies theme :deadbanana2:

The line in the movie about

Warner Bros wanting a Ken sequel

was very clever, especially because it played out in real life

I give this film a 6.0

Ryan was the highlight. Margot was just okay.

The marketing for this movie is the real winner. Good for WB. They really needed this.

not review bombed nearly to the extent of other movies that got certain people mad.

a 1 is only the 5th most popular rating on imdb for this.

little mermaid, 1 is the #1 most popular rating by more than double.

bros, 1 is the most popular rating.

ghostbusters (2016), 1 is the most popular rating.
