Rocket Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 47 minutes ago, ALA said: So what did y'all think about the ending? Nnn I screamed. Because  Spoiler of the scene earlier in the movie where she says she doesn't have a ******.
ALA Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 I think  Barbie wanting to become human kinda felt random on initial thought but I guess it makes sense in that she felt emotions after entering the real world that simply being in Barbieland wouldn't be enough. Definitely wasn't the ending I was expecting lol but I think having Barbie and Ken not be lovers made sense for this movie
Flanders Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 This was so enjoyable   Watched it at the pre-premiere last night in a packed theatre. I legit BURST out laughing during the depressed barbie joke, and that final punchline right before the credits was so good. Loved it! If anything I think the director could have gone a little further problematizing the impact of Barbies.  But whatever. SO good  5 hours ago, Kylizzle said: Just watched. Margot Robbie is such a talent! Ryan Gosling is funny but a little overpraised imo. This is Margot's movie through and through. Ryan was absolutely brilliant imo! Margot definitely had the best performance of the bunch but that's also because her character is the protagonist. This movie is already a modern classic tbh
Elliot Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 saw it today and it delivered everything i wanted  abit too much Ken tho i was hoping for more if Barbie figuring out who she is which is what i thought the Billie song was suggesting but the sets were perfect and Margot did an amazing job. I WILL SAY after watching i do believe Ryan was the best for the character even if he doesn’t look as young as people think Len should look
Desire Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Went to the Barbie Blowout Party last night. Wish it was more of a party with at least balloons  but it was cute that they played a few of the songs and videos before the movie. Also the button pin and mini poster is cute. The movie though... so good and worth all the hype. Margot and Ryan are the perfect Barbie and Ken (and he was no overused or overpraised) his portions are what made the plot move further along imo.Â
Dialamba Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Barbie was a collapse. The way the audience was clapping and laughing the entire time. Margot and Ryan will always be famousÂ
Memoirs387 Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Saw it at the Barbie Blowout party. Absolutely loved it. Seeing it again on SaturdayÂ
Bhabylon Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Spoiler The Michael Cera role needed to be played by a gay man tbh  1
Arcadius Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Had a standard showing for tonight but then my local theater added a ton of more showings this morning for the weekend so I’m seeing it in the morning instead but on a RPX screen. I’m so excited!Â
navykesha Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 My country banned this movie  what a shame that i could not support my queen  gonna wait 2 month to see this movie in Hd  im pissedÂ
Gwendolyn Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Conservatives are really trying it with the Barbie cancellation, the movie is still going to break records, it's not meant for angry white Republican fragile masculinity brats   South Korea (with a major incel problem) has tuned out  Â
Gwendolyn Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 And misogynists have review-bombed the movie to a 1/10 on ImdBÂ
ALA Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 To go out of your way to review bomb movies made for women is pathetic  waste of time  I will laugh if this ends up being WB's biggest opening ever
JDC Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 I have my pink outfit ready for tonight, I'm watching it with a group of 12 friends and I couldn't be more excited! Sadly, I'll have to watch it translated to Spanish because cinemas here don't screen movies in their original languagesÂ

They always do  OT: Watched it yesterday. Loved it, Greta did what she had to do. Margot slayed and owned the role. Ryan stood out and I can see why they’re naming him as a possible awards contender.
BNF91 Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Thursday previews still rising.. $20M may be the low end now. $20-24M in the cards. 1

Gesamtkunstwerk Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 Idk why everyone praises Ryan Gosling, he was ok, Margot Robbie was way better 1
poki Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 (edited) Everything is booked in my area. Guess I can only watch it next week.  I like how the promo lead up to it really felt like an event. The trailers, music videos, the memes, premiere outfits. Edited July 20, 2023 by PoKiTaurus
halcyonday Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 I went to a surprise screening at my cinema and it turned out to be a pre-premiere  i was SHOCKED. That was one of the best movie experiences I ever had. Margot and Ryan were made for this movie. What a piece of art.
Brunette Ambition Posted July 20, 2023 Posted July 20, 2023 It was cute. I hated most of the emotional scenes with the montages or that one woman character showing up. Ken stole the show.Â
