I have my pink outfit ready for tonight, I'm watching it with a group of 12 friends and I couldn't be more excited! Sadly, I'll have to watch it translated to Spanish because cinemas here don't screen movies in their original languages

And misogynists have review-bombed the movie to a 1/10 on ImdB :biblionny:

As expected lmao. They always do

OT: Watched it yesterday. Loved it, Greta did what she had to do. Margot slayed and owned the role. Ryan stood out and I can see why they’re naming him as a possible awards contender.

Everything is booked in my area. Guess I can only watch it next week.

I like how the promo lead up to it really felt like an event. The trailers, music videos, the memes, premiere outfits.

I went to a surprise screening at my cinema and it turned out to be a pre-premiere :deadbanana: i was SHOCKED. That was one of the best movie experiences I ever had. Margot and Ryan were made for this movie. What a piece of art. :jonny:

It was cute. I hated most of the emotional scenes with the montages or that one woman character showing up. Ken stole the show.

Saw it and absolutely loved it! :jonny6:

My mom cried at the end :weeps:

It really is an event! I've never seen so many people wearing pink in my life :superman:

amazing :jonny5:

everyone clapped by the end :jonny5:

I don't care if the feminist message is rather simple, in alt-right times in the US and with far-right growing rapidly in Europe any openly feminist film, especially a mainstream and commercial one like Barbie, is a f*cking win :jonny5:

Just watched. Margot Robbie is such a talent! Ryan Gosling is funny but a little overpraised imo. This is Margot's movie through and through.

Some of the dialogue is REALLY heavy-handed though. They lowkey thought they were being deeper than they were in one scene. This is still a corporate comedy at the end of the day.

obviously they are going to try to undermine Margots performance. It‘s been happening for weeks now. This is Barbies movie. Ken can have his side character development tho

Conservatives are really trying it with the Barbie cancellation, the movie is still going to break records, it's not meant for angry white Republican fragile masculinity brats :ahh:

South Korea (with a major incel problem) has tuned out

Barbie was ALWAYS gonna lose against King Edogawa tbh

America and Ryan were the standouts for me. I loved the movie, it was so colorful and introspective:jonny2:

Just got back from the theater. I loved it - very campy to where I think even half the audience was thrown off by it. Ryan Gosling was by far a standout, followed by America Ferrera.

I did think the writing was a bit off in parts of the movie. Some of it felt like a big feminist lecture - they could let the audience read between the lines a bit rather than making it into a cringe college lecture.

Also, justice for Matchbox 20 - Push :clap3:

Also GM really got their coin with the Hummer EV and Chevy Blazer EV product placements :deadbanana2:

Korea and China prefer anime now with Suzume (has a strong female lead btw) and The First Slam Dunk and now Conan stomping on Hollywood movies

Maybe if Barbie was Mimi the doll instead and stars IU or Yoona then it'd smash in Korea :gaycat6:
