Was able to see this today and that was the best 2 hours of my life. Wasn't expecting to love it as much but I was surprised. Can't wait to rewatch this again :alexz3:

'Little Mermaid' Review Bombing Leads to IMDb Changing Rating - Variety

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) has made changes to its rating system for Disney’s live-action remake of “The Little Mermaid” after the new release became the latest target for “review bombing” — a practice in which a production is flooded with negative reviews by users who wield multiple accounts or employ bots to create new ones.

Between this, and the RT verified audience score, things are changing for the better. Thank you Brie Larson. Thank you Halle Bailey :clap3:.

‘Barbie’ Has Best Ticket Presales Since ‘Avatar: The Way Of Water’

“You’re being managed on Barbie” was a snarky text I received last night, “it’s at least $130M.”

Today, to support the crazy fever of moviegoing were about to witness this weekend, the BoxOffice Company is reporting that Barbie is outpacing all other films this year since Avatar: The Way of Water. You’ll remember that James Cameron directed sequel debuted to $134M.

Google really should change its rating system as well, so many shows got review bombed by angry conservatives on there.

Eh I think that was a one time thing for mermaid only. Review bombed other things are still showing their rock bottom scores

I swear Korean men have to be some of the most infantile, insecure people out there. Love to see them SUFFER :jonny5:

I hope the Korean girlies and gays have the time of their lives at the cinema

I wonder if we will soon be locking in Barbie toppling Harry Potter 8 and its 12 year record as Warner Bros highest grossing opening weekend of all time ($169,189,427 unadjusted).

With the amount it’s gobbling up screens and showtimes heading into the weekend it really is set to explode.

Just a reminder if you go see lt this weekend and can't get a good seat, you only have yourself to blame. Not the minimum wage paid movie theater worker. I'm going to see it tonight but I work all weekend and I'm so nervous :sosad:

Only 100K more than the TLM in South Korea in it's first day.  Seems to be underperforming like Mario in both China and Korea. Probably will end with $10-15M total in both countries each.

The film climate in China and Korea seems so weird. Japan is probably going to eat this though as they responded significantly better to both TLM and Mario in comparison. I can see the same happening with Barbie.

There needs to be a case study as to why China and Korea rejected Mario, Mermaid and now Barbie but stanned Avatar 2 while Japan did the complete opposite, giving those 2 a chance but rejected Avatar 2 :deadbanana4:

TLM and Mario were both huge franchises in Japan. TLM was Disney's most popular movie in Japan before Frozen which is helping the modern movie to push 20M-25M dollars gross. :michael: Bigger than the Renaissance Aladdin and BATB.

TLM did not do as good in Japan as in UK but still it did carry on a bit unlike in China and Korea.

Disney, now, wants to milk the Avengers again and they better be careful with the budget as China has given up on Western movies and established their own Box Office ecosystem. They should expect a radical drop in numbers from China considering all the possibilities, which was a massive market in 2019 for the movie.
