I obviously haven’t seen the movie and I’m not super familiar with the Academy award methods, but I don’t see Ryan winning for this? It just seems like the Academy wouldn’t want to award a movie like this with an acting Oscar

Since the test screenings I remember reading that Ryan was the standout and the one that could get some noms, and GG I think is on lock at least for Best Original Screenplay.

Gosling taking the supporting Oscar nom seems no joke after this spot. He seems at his best as comedian and in the drama. The range here is real and he sings and dances too 

 

Margot could approach a nomination too since it's clear the movie is gonna be very big at this point.

The collapse and cultural reset, all my girl and gay friends are PERCHED, even the 40-50 something women at work are going to go and watch it and bring their little girls with them as well. I didn't even have to bring it up they just randomly mentioned how they want to go see it

I feel like the people hating on this movie are just assuming it's gonna be a campy goofy mess like a Transformers/Minions for girls and gays or something

But it will actually be a crowd pleaser with a heart, the existential crisis theme will strike a chord especially with the current mood of the times
