fountain Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Hmm I think it’ll be memorable for a lot of people, but it’s not fully doing it for me It looks like it isn’t as ambitious as it could’ve been, and the tone seems like it’s aimed at the lowest common denominator The actual movie could be great but the trailers have done a disservice if so 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Margot looks so good in every Outfitcant wait for the opening sequence of Nicki Minaj rapping
kandicha Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 This is going to be the movie of the summer I can’t wait this will be a fun escapist campy hit!
midnightdawn Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Looks kinda basic. A better storyline would be them dealing with becoming old because the leads are too old to play Barbie and Ken.
blackoutbritney Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 When was the last time a roll out been this perfect?
akoaytao1234 Posted May 25, 2023 Posted May 25, 2023 Barbie going down her house is a Stunt fail lol. How did that make it to the trailers. Otherwise, the trailer was a serve. My suspicion that Margot's Barbie will be the comedic "straight man" to Gosling is pretty much confirmed. Gosling so far is the highlight of the trailer. Also, the film's plot seems to align with how the Lego Movie is with much more commentary though.
EmailMySwift Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 The flat heel joke was not funny. What a fail. The trailer looks...fine but unremarkable. This is what Twitter has been hyping so hard? 1
Taylor fanboy Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Bad trailer in a sense that it feels like it’s given away much of the movie BUT the movie looks great. Margot you will be forever famous

It’s looking pretty similar to the Lego Movie plot, but that’s okay bc I liked that movie and the film looks like a decent summer flick to see in the theatre
aesthetic bih Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 Its very camp which is good! But I dont like that the characters are basically screaming at each other, its so annoying 1
HeWolf Posted May 26, 2023 Posted May 26, 2023 (edited) That Ken is so ugly Daddy Simu Liu >>> Edited May 26, 2023 by HeWolf
Lovett Posted May 30, 2023 Posted May 30, 2023 The Barbie Dreamhouse in Greta Gerwig's Barbie has been revealed.

Now... this is where we're at: Hari Nef screams "FLAT FEET!!!!", makes a barf sound and the rest of them screams in horror... This is from an original screenplay by Greta Gerwig and Noah Baumbach? I'm supposed to laugh? I'll still be seeing this no matter what and hoping for the best (it's not like I can't appreciate some campy, unserious fun either), but every single joke that's been in the teaser and trailer so far has been nothing but basic and irritating. Romy and Michele's High School Reunion has done that type of humor soooooo much better, let me go rewatch that. that's the only part of the trailer i don't like. That actress tries too hard
Orsay Posted May 31, 2023 Posted May 31, 2023 I think this will be great. I have faith in Greta! I've loved every movie of hers i've seen
Lovett Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Quote ‘BARBIE’ has been rated PG-13 for suggestive references and brief language. https://twitter.com/DiscussingFilm/status/1668783773691924481
Gwendolyn Posted June 14, 2023 Posted June 14, 2023 Anyone going to the London premiere? I'm thinking of going since I will be completely free this summer for once.

Same but I have to accept now that I was delusional to ever think Warner Bros and Mattel would allow Greta Gerwig spend $100M on a major artistic statement It's clear that the powers that be wanted a children's film and Greta gave it to them. 1
