Hairspray did very well in theaters as have other musicals - so long as they're marketed as musicals. This is an adaptation of the play which is a prequel to the Wizard of Oz - one of the most beloved films of all time. I think it will do well as long as the effects are in point and they don't stray too far from the source material. Ariana is known as a vocalist and Cynthia has given fantastic performances beforehand as well.
