MJB and Gaga got nominated for acting categories.

 

Ariana will either join Gaga/MJB to get nominated at Oscar acting category without winning or she'll join JHud to win one with acting debut.

Yep, she had a hit song (If I Could Turn Back Time) off of a hit album with a box office and critical hit. The parallels to Ariana are actually kinda insane, except Ariana has never had the string of flops Cher did.

Not recently but Cher and Barbra Streisand have won acting Oscars. Quite a few have been nominated though - Gaga, Doris Day, Diana Ross, Bette Midler, etc. If Ariana wins she will join a very exclusive list, but regardless a nomination is a huge win for her and opens the door for more film opportunities in the future. Cher didn't win with her first nomination, but won with her second nomination for Lead Actress in Moonstruck. Ariana gives Barbra Streisand vibes, imo. A multi-hyphenate known in film for her musical/comedic performances.

Thanks for reminding me about Streisand.  I was racking my brain and didn't go back far enough.  
 

Ariana being in company with Barbara and Cher would be amazing for her.  (But I won't get too ahead of myself.)

It's easier to win BSA compared to BA methinks for supporting actress in musical movie.

Recent winners like DeBose and JHud were in musical movies.

Already passed 250m in the US and is at 360m global on its second weekend with several markets to still open.

 

And people in here foolishly said it'd be lucky to even cross 400m overall. Baby this is getting half a billion in the US alone and will likely get to 700-800m WW.

The only obstacle Ari needs to overcome now is Saldana.

She's been too long in movie industry and has worked with many people.

She sure has connection and many AMPAS members will vote for her. There's been no drama so far from her regarding diva attitude at set and she has maintained good relationship with many people in the industry.

Tbh everything except for the Tony is very plausible. She already has the GRAMMY nominations, Oscar nom is looking likely, and she could get an Emmy nomination for her SNL hosting gig if they campaign her. Especially if she gets the Oscar nomination and/or win that would help her chances at the Emmys too since she will be riding that momentum. 

 

I think she could deff EGOT in her career and she should try for it. Not by using one of those producing loop holes though, an actual performance EGOT which is rare.

They're literally filming entire scenes, like how are they not being taken down for copyright

The longest one I saw was like a full 5+ minute scene 

 

I just looked it up, cause I wanted to know if there are some consequences for all these tiktoks but it seems like universal is encouraging it  I'm gonna riot if cinemas are gonna be the next concerts with people constantly filming

That's not foolish. Based off of comps, a realistic total would have been $400M for Wicked before release (and that would have been a success, too). The fact that Wicked is smashing that is beyond impressive and goes to show just how well it's being received.

Honestly, she deserves an EGOT. She needs an acting Oscar and they need to find a way to award her and Cynthia for the work they've done on the soundtrack.

China never rallied behind musicals and their market is now purposefully set up to not support Western media. It's why the box office absolutely cratered after 2019 and will never return to how it was, even with COVID no longer being a major issue.

This is going to be their strongest international promo. While TikTok can't necessarily sell seats, it will increase brand awareness greatly, which is what matters most for marketing, selling merchandise and getting people to stream. It's not a bad thing because while it may not help the first film, it'll help the second film.
