Jude Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 $500M domestic seems to be more likely now, but I'll be conservative with my guess for the final dom gross at $400M. 2
Jude Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 https://www.reddit.com/r/wicked/s/CV9kJHU8Ta Wait, they're cooking something. Ariana might be actually submitted for Best Actress for Wicked Part 2. 7 1

Donquizote Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 The last film to be crowned best picture without winning director or screenplay was "Chicago" - right when the Iraq war was just starting. Is Wicked going to follow Chicago path?
Radical Pessimism Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I watched it for the 2nd time with my family and they loved it. Cynthia deserves to win an Oscar. 5
OnlyManInTheWorld Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Watched it last week and still cannot stop thinking about it. Might watch again Had no idea what the story was about, might've watched some James Franco movie about the wizard of oz years ago. Didn't even know there was a musical Ariana and Cynthia both blew me away and Ariana proved to have a bright future in comedy genre. Saw "Moana 2" yesterday and it SUCKS 6
P!NK2LOVE Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I've seen it twice now and want to go a third. Do you know how rare that is for me? Omg it's INSANE. This movie is INSANE. My favourite of all time tbh, **** it I said it 7
kimberly Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 oh wow. this was phenomenal. I'm not a theater kid and was skeptical of the 2h40m run time and the whole ~Part I~ thing. it did not feel long or dragged out AT ALL. Ariana Grande is incredible here. stole every scene she was in. her comedic timing is really underrated. and I don't even need to mention vocals. Cynthia gave a powerful performance as well, and got tears out of me in a couple moments. I practically WEPT during "Defying Gravity." give them the Oscars, the Grammys, everything. they deserve it. 10
Lovett Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I saw it for a second time yesterday, this time in IMAX and it was an experience. It was the first time I'd ever been to a cinema with applause at the end. I loved it! I'm seeing it again today But this time with a friend who hasn't seen it yet. I can't wait to see her react to it in real-time. 4

Donquizote Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Good thing about Wicked is it doesn't have lots of screenings due to its movie length. Many people have yet to see it. Good word of mouth will contribute to its longevity at box office. 1
Gorjesspazze9 Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I loved it so much I'm going to see it again today! And I rarely see movies in theaters more then once unless it's a Marvel movie like that's when you know you got me. I gotta see that Ariana Popular sequence again. It was so girly and cute, but also a Bop 2
Blue Monday Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 Going again today and dragging my hag with me \ 1

I'd guess it'll be right around the $500M domestic mark and then $300M foreign. I expect Kraven, Sonic 3 and Mufasa to all underperform (granted an underperformance for Mufasa will still be $700M+ WW) which will hold space for Wicked at the theaters. 7 hours ago, OnlyManInTheWorld said: Watched it last week and still cannot stop thinking about it. Saw "Moana 2" yesterday and it SUCKS Girl, Wicked is fan-fiction about the Wizard of Oz, reimagining the stories of some of the main cast. The James Franco movie was based on the books, but not totally faithful. Oz was a series of like 40 books. 6 hours ago, Lovett said: I saw it for a second time yesterday, this time in IMAX and it was an experience. cityfolk Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I finally saw it the other day and I absolutely loved it !!! Spoiler Cynthia's 'The Wizard and I' is my preferred version over the original now

byzantium Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 I think most of the songs on the film soundtrack are better than the Broadway recording. No one mourns the wicket is definitely better and I prefer Cynthia's more youthful sounding the wizard and I. Idina's Defying gravity is still better but overall the film soundtrack > broadway recording.
Thuggin Posted November 30, 2024 Posted November 30, 2024 $600M WW seems all but guaranteed now Possibly $700M range when all said and done This could end up the first movie to make $500M domestic and not hit $1B worldwide 2
