Gaia Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 there is absolutely no way Jonathan Bailey got paid $450k when he's already a very popular actor

Jotham Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 I wonder if we'll ever get another movie musical that matches this film's commercial success. I think a good adaptation of Les Mis can come close but that's going to be difficult to pull off. 1

Unless it's both movies combined, There's no way they'd give the two leads such a massive difference in pay. Pretty sure these numbers come from an unsourced TikTok that people are running with. You're totally right, while Ariana is a mega popstar, $15m for a movie is an Oscar-winning, established actress salary. Even for both films, there's no way she'd get $7.5m each. I can see her negotiating for a much, much bigger salary for #2 from whatever she did actually get for this one, though. ----- Anyways, I wanna see this so badly but no one I know wants to see it (gross heterosexuals). I was totally wrong about this movie because I thought it was going to be "too niche" to succeed. I guess I had no idea how popular Wicked actually is. Super happy for Ari. She deserves this.
ultraviolence.xx Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 loved it! i think the most affecting moment was hearing michelle say "this wicked witch" in the context of the full movie—shiver-inducing! 2

lgaga1fan Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 Great great movie. Cynthia Erivo stole the show for me she was so amazing as Elphaba. Excited to rewatch it it's instantly a top 10 film of the year for me. Defying Gravity was riveting and felt like a massive superhero sequence for the girls and gays. A really special film somehow came out of an extremely commercially glossy production. Their connection and growth really made the film pop. 2

ariananext Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 everything is going amazing, I'm so happy and she must be too. this is probably one of the most entertaining/overall best moments as longtime a fan of Ariana. 7

Jude Posted November 25, 2024 Posted November 25, 2024 (edited) WITF is truly the most catchy song off the soundtrack. That final chorus is pop perfection! Edited November 25, 2024 by Jude 3

It's one of the most popular broadway shows ever, got an extremely high production budget and even bigger promotional budget it seems. Like this movie was promoted as much if not more than a canon Marvel movie. It's kind of insane. It also has that childish looks/appeal that makes parents want to also take their children. It literally looks like a Disney princess movie So I'm not sure another music will have the same broad appeal Edited November 25, 2024 by Gaia 3
