JBJT2786 Posted Sunday at 04:06 PM Posted Sunday at 04:06 PM Not to be that person but it went from 165-200,to 120 to now 114M? What's the cinemascore cuz this is making me nervous with the future numbers ( especially with the Thanksgiving holiday this week and Moana 2 coming to destroy everything ).... 1

St. Charles Posted Sunday at 04:10 PM Posted Sunday at 04:10 PM What were the other two that were higher? This is obviously awesome, but I thought it would be bigger because this is one of the most promoted movies I can remember. 1

But the domestic was def lower than expected. https://deadline.com/2024/11/wicked-gladiator-box-office-preview-1236181463/ Looks like overseas numbers slightly overperformed. 300M domestic is likely, probably 500M WW final. Only problem is Moana 2 washing everything away this weekend. 1

Deadpool & Wolverine - $211M from 4,210 locations Inside Out 2 - $154M from 4,440 locations 2

Space Cowboy Posted Sunday at 04:25 PM Posted Sunday at 04:25 PM Nice numbers. Although I did expect bigger domestic numbers. It nearly didn't beat Beetlejuice 2 opening with a way bigger marketing capaign and way more hype.
JO1s Posted Sunday at 04:25 PM Posted Sunday at 04:25 PM It's not even open in a lot of countries yet, this film will have legs. And I don't think Moana 2 will completely flood this film out. 4

The film reportedly had massive pre-sales, second only to D&W. Additionally, some publications and box office analysts were predicting a domestic opening between $120M and $155M just a few weeks ago. Given those expectations, the $114M opening feels somewhat underwhelming, especially since many were anticipating an overperformance similar to Barbie. 1
