Orsay Posted Saturday at 09:41 PM Posted Saturday at 09:41 PM I've never been a big One Short Day stan but they kinda tore it and made it a highlight. I already wanna watch the whole thing again UGH 1
Jotham Posted Saturday at 09:59 PM Posted Saturday at 09:59 PM I hope they continue to have cameos from the OBC in Part Two that continue the trend of "carrying the torch." Here are some of my ideas: Spoiler Fiyero's actor (Norbert Leo Butz) is a veteran of the guard who trains Fiyero once he joins. Boq's and Madame Morrible's actors (Christopher Fitzgerald and Carole Shelley) could be some of the people leading the mob in "March of the Witch Hunters." When the WIzard is revealed to be Elphaba's father, we could have a flashback to his childhood, and the Wizard's original actor (Joel Grey) could play the Wizard's father in the flashback.
Elusive Chanteuse Posted Saturday at 11:41 PM Posted Saturday at 11:41 PM I really enjoyed it. The dancing scene was touching. Ari doing opera was great. 3
Jude Posted Saturday at 11:45 PM Posted Saturday at 11:45 PM The people in r/Broadway are raving for this movie. Everyone there was dragging it especially after the poster-gate. Didn't expect the people there to be praising this especially them notorious theater kids. 2 4
SUNSET BLVD Posted Saturday at 11:51 PM Posted Saturday at 11:51 PM It was okay. I don't know the rest of the story so I'm not sure what was serving as set up but the lead up to oz felt really slow. Arrival at oz through the end was a serve though.
Poxy Posted Sunday at 12:34 AM Posted Sunday at 12:34 AM I enjoyed it! It felt a bit bloated though, that run time was rough… but it was fun. Jonathan Bailey is gorgeous, Popular sounded fantastic, and Cynthia made my heart break for Elphie they need to reprint those dolls again so I can scoop them up. 1
Popular Post Jotham Posted Sunday at 12:37 AM Popular Post Posted Sunday at 12:37 AM **** it. Ethan Slater avi 16 2
tiejc Posted Sunday at 12:39 AM Posted Sunday at 12:39 AM The thought of Ari becoming an Oscar nominee... whew Let me not get excited because the Oscars love to pull some fuckery in the noms every year. 1
DevilsRollTheDice Posted Sunday at 12:44 AM Posted Sunday at 12:44 AM I am not exaggerating when I say this was the best movie I've ever seen. Lifelong fan of Wicked and have been TERRIFIED that they'd botch it. I cannot believe how excellent Ariana was. She may have found a new stan 11 1
Totami Legend Posted Sunday at 01:28 AM Posted Sunday at 01:28 AM (edited) visually it looked dull and muted but everything else was exceptional from the singing to the acting Edited Sunday at 01:29 AM by Totami Legend
SlimyGhoul Posted Sunday at 01:56 AM Posted Sunday at 01:56 AM I've been waiting for a movie of this musical since 2008. Every single thing blew me away. I have no notes. Wow. I did not know Ariana could act like that. I'm still stunned. Will be seeing again. 3

I heard iMax was too bright and that how I felt when I saw it in that format. I'm going to see this again today on a regular screen with Dolby sound, hopefully it's not too bright. 1
QueenB Posted Sunday at 02:13 AM Posted Sunday at 02:13 AM I was skeptical of this movie, and even believed Ariana shouldnt have been cast.. but she completely blew me away from the intro. God was indeed a woman, and her name is AriAllah This movie is a 10/10, I literally have 0 complaints (...If I really wanted to find one it would be jeff goldblum was kinda flat and he can't sing, but not a HUGE problem). loved this so much I booked tickets to see it again, I only have a year to prepare for the emotional rollercoaster that 'For Good' will deliver.. lives will be lost, people WILL cry, and the movie WILL make $1 Billion 9

AmandaHP Posted Sunday at 03:17 AM Posted Sunday at 03:17 AM Omg it was amazing, I need to see it again
KKW Posted Sunday at 03:25 AM Posted Sunday at 03:25 AM I'm watching it again with my mom on Thursday and that feels way too far. I'm having withdrawals (mind you I've seen it twice) 2 3
ttsmu Posted Sunday at 04:05 AM Posted Sunday at 04:05 AM Omg. One of the best movies I've seen in a while. It was amazing. I want to see it again. 3
ATRL Moderator feelslikeadream Posted Sunday at 04:13 AM ATRL Moderator Posted Sunday at 04:13 AM Seeing this next weekend and I'm glad to hear all the praise for Ari in this thread, but it's only making me MORE nervous about Cynthia I've seen her act in three different films/shows and don't get the hype, as I feel like she often says her lines in a weird monotone way. Now I'm afraid she'll do it here too since y'all aren't even praising her outside of Defying Gravity.

Thuggin Posted Sunday at 04:25 AM Posted Sunday at 04:25 AM I never see movies in theaters more than once but I have to see this at least a couple more times I'm gonna try to go again Friday but it's gonna be excruciating waiting until then 5
Aristocrat Posted Sunday at 04:51 AM Posted Sunday at 04:51 AM It's currently tracking for around $110M domestic opening. It's made around $82.5M in its first two days. The smashery. Considering the very first predictions weren't even tracking to do $80M, this is so massive 13
