ctlp27 Posted November 21 Posted November 21 Totally doing above 100 M$ is A GREAT NUMBER, mind you without lots of premium screen because of Gladiator 2 (kinda of crazy they have higher coverage considering it will open below lol). I think the Cinemascore will be high and WOM and it will have great legs until Christmas and Mufasa. For those who wants to take kids and not see animation (Moana 2), this will be perfect next week. And it has high review value for the musical fans. I do think tho we will have a 60/65 % domestic vs. international.
Siberian Siren Posted November 21 Posted November 21 I grew up watching Wicked countless times on Broadway. They were both amazing and Jon Chu really did it justice. It was a long time coming but so worth the wait.

Perfect way to watch it. I will admit, I had a slight problem, it looked like some of the colors shifted during some scenes lol

However, I am so happy I decided to see it last night. It was INCREDIBLE. God, I am so proud of everyone in the cast because I can't imagine anyone else in their roles. I do hope they get a good amount of awards because it would be WELL deserved. Please go see this in Dolby or IMAX if you're able to! it's absolutely stunning. No, Dolby is good too. Go quickly to an IMAX screening though if you can. Stupid Moana 2 (don't get me wrong I don't mind Moana but it shouldn't have come out yet), is gonna take over IMAX.
Weld_E Posted November 21 Posted November 21 As someone who isn't a big fan of the musical, I found the movie funny, charming and whimsical. Apart from Jeff as Oz, the entire cast did a great job, especially Ariana and Cynthia. It could've 20 minutes shorter as it dragged a bit in the middle, but the final act and especially Defying Gravity was phenomenal. Everyone clapped when the movie ended. 1

Dear Reader Posted November 21 Posted November 21 I can't believe this movie will only be available Dec 5th in my country. I hate it here
IsidoraMarí Posted November 21 Posted November 21 It deserves a Billion by the end. I saw it Monday, going back Sunday and I will definitely be attending the sing a longs after christmas.
Marianah Adkins Posted Thursday at 10:50 PM Posted Thursday at 10:50 PM I'm just stunned at the film's success critically and commercially right now, especially considering the state of movie musicals right now + the messy press it has been getting prior
ariananext Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Posted Thursday at 11:08 PM Just got home, what an amazing, immersive experience. Almost 3 hours and they flew by, I loved it from start to finish, Ariana was incredible, she truly was born to play Glinda, she was absolutely brilliant and obviously vocally incredible. Everything was perfectly curated. I never cry when I watch movies but I started tearing up at some point because I'm just so incredibly proud of her (especially towards the end) and it felt like a big full circle moment after everything we've experienced with her as fans. My favourite part were Popular, the Ozdust Ballroom scene and of course, Defying Gravity. Spoiler Also I went in only knowing that it was a prequel to the Wizard of OZ (I have no clue about the plot although I just started reading the book) and was absolutely upset when I found out that the Wizard was actually evil spirited and meant to use Elphaba's power, silly me. 4
