Funhouse Posted November 18 Posted November 18 Ariana and Cynthia with West End Glindas and Elphabas Sophie Evans, Helen Woolf, Louise Dearman, Lucy St Louis, Alexia Khadime, Kerry Ellis, Lucie Jones, Rachel Tucker, and Alice Fearn 3 hours ago, KasioKas said: Because a lot of them got a special exclusive screening, 14 in fact. https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/story/when-the-broadway-witches-watched-wicked I know, but it still would've been nice to see more of them at the premieres, especially since so many of the original witches couldn't make it to the special screening. We wanted to see Eden, Shoshana, Stephanie, and Megan! 3

judasmonster Posted November 19 Posted November 19 excited to see the film this weekend, wishing for good news for all the cast tomorrow with the review embargo lifting
Jotham Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Honestly, I've been skeptical of this movie from the start, especially after they announced it's gonna be a two-part project. But I've been really excited for it these past couple of weeks, based on the clips it looks like it's gonna be so good. Also, my aunt and uncle invited to a screening last week and although they can't reveal too much details, they enjoyed it a lot.
Scandalous Posted November 19 Posted November 19 just went to the advanced screening and OH MY GODDDD WHAT A GAGGG I can't remember the last time i had this much fun seeing a movie at the theater. Wizard of Oz was my fav movie as a kid, I've never seen Wicked the musical so i went into this not really knowing much and all the Oz references made my inner kid so happy Ari absolutely devoured but honestly the whole cast was pretty spot on. I got full body chills the first note Ari sang at the beginning, I miss those more operatic vocals from her, and although I never saw the play you can def tell she's emulating Kristin's energy a lot here. this is def my favorite movie this year and i already wanna see it again her and Cynthia play off of each other so well and the surprise cameos ***** everyone went bonkers in the theater 6 1
BMURDA617 Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Saw this tonight. All I can say is WOW. What an incredible, expansive, emotional achievement. There is one scene that had my entire theater crying. Also, the last 15ish minutes are absolutely thrilling and quite emotional. Literally no notes. I can't wait to see it again. 2 2

ksmith Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Saw an early screening tonight and loved it. Have loved this musical going on twenty years now, seen it near 10 times…so I just really, really care. And was very nervous about nearly everything. But they did a genuinely great job with it. Very little notes. If you want to read my letterboxd review: https://boxd.it/7Qxyb3 But yeah, visually stunning, perfectly cast, stayed very faithful. Really very little wrong with it. Could get nit picky but why? Can't wait for part 2. 1 1

Alaska. Posted November 19 Posted November 19 Eh, the critics score is less biased, so let's wait for that one Spoiler Although honestly the Letterboxd scores always seem more reliable. Maybe it'll be around 3.5 there, which is pretty good 1
