Aristocrat Posted May 18, 2024 Posted May 18, 2024 The trailer was absolutely everything Have been waiting years for this and the fact it's finally so close feels unreal. So proud of Ariana.

fridayteenage Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 (edited) just wondered what the top cast albums are each year per BB: 2023 - hamilton six 3 wicked 2022 - hamilton dear evan hansen hadestown six 5 wicked 2021 - hamilton 2 wicked dear evan hansen 2020 - hamilton 2 wicked dear evan hansen 2019 - hamilton springsteen dear evan hansen 4 wicked 2018 - hamilton dear evan hansen 3 wicked 2017 - hamilton dear evan hansen 3 wicked 2016 - 1 wicked beautiful waitress 2015 - 1 wicked mormon lion king 2014 - 1 wicked mormon if/then Kinda surprising that DEH flopped that much when it was one of the It Shows for 6 years. But Wicked can pull in lots of Wizard of Oz fans even if they don't know the musical. Data is a year old, but on Spotify: https://studyfinds.org/most-streamed-musical-soundtracks/ 1. Hamilton 5,658,081,545 2. Mamma Mia! 1,587,994,591 3. Dear Evan Hansen 845,678,685 4. Wicked 535,180,319 5. SIX: The Musical 381,161,427 Edited June 22, 2024 by fridayteenage
Gerardo Posted July 1, 2024 Posted July 1, 2024 (edited) Thank god they moved it, and tbh I think November 15th would be even better, but at least it's nots competing against Moana on the first week Edited July 1, 2024 by Gerardo

TaylorNation Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 it's the best trailer so far but WHY are they spoiling everything?? it's such a baffling marketing decision

They're showing the most popular beats from the musical and Jon Chu has said to expect something different than the stage musical, and knowing this will also adapt the novel more, I think we're in for something different than we're expecting. The mixing of Margaret Hamilton's theme into that final montage with those gentle vocalizations was incredible. This looks visually stunning and I can't wait to see the final product. I am curious about the MPAA and runtime though.
Memoirs387 Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 The trailer is amazing but yeah it does feel like they're assuming everyone knows wicked and we're just happy to see a film version but I think a lot of the general public will be interested, hasn't seen wicked and will be like wait I saw a lot of this in the trailer. Also be like wait there's a part 2 loll. Anyways, I'm excited!!!
duybeeGAshantiGA Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Cant wait to hear their version of For Good. 1

Aristocrat Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Loving the new trailer. It feels like such a cinematic movie event. Everything looks so stunning and colorful. And Ariana's acting is looking so promising, she's really holding her own against a heavyweight like Cynthia. Also there's a new international trailer as well (above) with a lot of different scenes. It really gets into the Act I/Part I storyline regarding the animals.
Mystic Warrior Posted September 5, 2024 Posted September 5, 2024 Officially rated PG for some scary action, thematic material, and brief suggestive material. Seems like they bargained for a PG based off the reasoning to make sure the film still reaches a family audience. Smart move!
Aristocrat Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 (edited) Universal also released a new international trailer with different scenes (below)! WICKED opens in theaters November 22nd! Edited September 6, 2024 by Aristocrat 4
Rihinvention Posted September 6, 2024 Posted September 6, 2024 Does anyone else follow Tori (The Oz Vlog) on TikTok? I'm obsessed with her. She's got me so hyped up for this movie. 1

She's got me so hyped up for this movie. Yes! I discovered her last year, her coverage of all things Wicked/Oz related has made the Wicked movie rollout so fun. I hope they invite her to the premiere or something.
