NOW Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 (edited) As well all know (at least those of us with taste), NFR! is Lana Del Rey's magnum opus, something extraordinary and multilayered from start to finish. We've wanted her to create something even better and, while the last two albums are cute, they were unable to (and maybe intentionally so) reach the highs of Norman. However, this upcoming album feels a little different...there's something in the wind. Here are the reasons why NFR! might possibly get topped with Lana's next album: Reason #1 Almost immediately after Blue Banisters came out, Lana started teasing the NFR! era style a lot in her rare public appearances and posts. See the signature black jacket style she used in the music video for "the Greatest" and the de-facto promo shot during NFR!: Reason #2 She told a fan during the Variety Awards that the next album is "even better" than the ones she put out in 2021. She also never says this about her albums. Reason #3 She's working with Jack Antonoff again. Enough said. Reason #4 Jack mentioned in a recent interview that Lana and he have a set of "bombastic" songs unreleased that they worked on which didn't fit on either Norman or Chemtrails. Could this be for the album they're working on right now? Reason #5 Lana feels inspired to tour again. She made it clear last year she wasn't going to do a tour with her latest two albums, which makes sense in hindsight since they're composed of these quiet, deep, introspective tracks. Maybe this album of "bombastic" songs will coincide with a return to her touring? Reason #6 Lana & Jack are goofing off in the studio together. If you were around during the NFR! sessions, you'd remember they were constantly fooling around in the studio and taking fun pics/videos. Something magical is going on right now, is the hunch. Reason #7: Reason #8 Quote He’d just been in Los Angeles, recording with Lana Del Rey at Henson Studios. “We were tuning 808s, messing around,” he said. “And then we had this one weird live take where she was singing along to a voice memo on her phone, with her headphones on, and I was playing piano latent to what she was singing, and we just both went, ‘Yep, there it is—our one magic moment.’ ” https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2022/05/23/jack-antonoff-pop-music-collaboration-lorde-taylor-swift -- Is Lana's official magnum opus coming? shookspeare Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 tea, the incoming collab album with Nikki Lane will top NFR and win AOTY
~Start The Music Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 She already topped NFR with Ultraviolence & Born To Die when will y’all shut up about this boring ass overrated album already?
JoanneActII Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 she already topped nfr with chemtrails and honeymoon
Sweet Sexy Savage Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 The only thing I wanna top is Jack Antonoff
Chimichanga Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 (edited) Lightning doesn't strike the same place twice. If she ever tops NFR, it won't be a Jack album. She needs new collaborators to try something different. Rostam and Daniel Lopatin would be great for her. Edited April 26, 2022 by Chimichanga

Rostam would be amazing but I do wonder if there's really something up their sleeves that we haven't heard yet. How could they leave these "bombastic" tracks off Norman but she has stuff like Venice *****, the Greatest, or even Doin' Time? Edited April 26, 2022 by NOW

I still have yet to sit down and listen fully to Folklore & Evermore, but from what I listened to, I liked it. Probably a bit more than "Lover" which imo "Lover" had some good songs, but it was definitely not better than REputaTION (at first I really disliked this album based off of some of the singles like the collab with Future & Ed Sheeran) but the rest of the album was reallllly damn good. So don't get me wrong when I say this. I just reallllly feel like Lana & Taylor would not mesh well musically for some reason. Which is weird because in a way they are sort of similar & Taylor has said that she's been inspired & influenced by Lanagend. I just can't put my finger on why I don't think they'd make a good collab. I could be completely wrong tho, & they make an amazing song. It could be one of the best collabs of this decade & etc. Plus it would open up Lana to a bunch of new listeners & success & it could bring her the recognition that she deserves. So in that sense I'm not against it. But yea lol.
Hyune Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 doubt she will ever top Born To Die! but hoping its better then her last two
