This seems pretty accurate to me for the most part except BTS, I know they are huge but bigger than Beyoncé, P!nk & Gaga already? Seems odd.

Chartmaster system has their fails, benefits single artist because they include all the featurings  in others artist discographies when any chart company (Billboard, RIAA, IFPI, BPI even Spotify) do that, so Drake, Rihanna, Ariana are having more units than their real, on the other side harms artists bigger in China and overall in Asia outside SK and Japan, but at the end is one of the most accurate sources to know how big an artists discography is

Are you in Asia?

 

Asia is a big market. China alone has 1.4B people (four times as great as US's 330M population) Not to mention that Asians stream a lot on YouTube and our local streaming sites. Streaming is the current currency of music business

 

I can guarantee to you that BTS is way bigger than Beyonce, Pink, Gaga even at their peak here

 

Pink was never big in Asia

Gaga was big until Applause

Beyonce was biggest at her peak (up until 3rd era), by when she transitioned back to R&B with "4" she lost Asia

That’s part of what makes them a little more reliable - they spend hours calculating each artist and it takes them weeks to validate numbers.

China’s downloads are still unofficial and need to be thrown out. They’re finally taking steps by forcing QQMusic to just one sale per customer, but their numbers are still so fake. Imagine BIG BANG selling 1M+ digital copies in 30 minutes in the streaming age when the biggest hits of the year don’t even sell 1M digital copies over the course of a year in every country combined

A heavy amount of their total is fake. Korea had to change their charting rules because boygroup stans mass stream to fake numbers. That’s why their streaming certifications don’t get anywhere near their streams per individual song.
