No shade to Alexa, but Madge deserves an actress that can really do her life story justice like what Angela Basset did with Tina. That’s why I was happy to hear Florence Pugh name circling around the auditions because I can really see her as Madonna.
 

Madonna’s biopic has the be the most recent one I’m actually excited about. Hope whoever gets the role knocks it out of the park.

saoirse would have been so much better, but its weird how all these girls are white when katniss in the books is a poc

the one thing alexa has that all the other girls in the running lack is mystery and allure. florence pugh and julia garner are sexless and way too innocent to be believable as madonna beyond the visual resemblance.

She isn't. I mean, I suppose she could be anything based on the description, but her mom and sister are described as blond and blue-eyed a.k.a. white. Katniss is just described as less fair and standing out next to them. Dark straight hair, olive skin. Think someone like e.g. Mila Kunis.
