You completely forgot that this settlement supports JD: it demonstrates that JD is the type who takes the high road, rather than fight under a false pretence of innocence while being guilty.

 

The deal completely undercuts AH's central claim that JD loves deny wrongdoing and prefers to fight and drag innocent people to court out of some spite or desire to humiliate them and use his fame and fortune to wrap judges and juries around his scissors for fingers.

 

There goes all that conspiracy theory into the rubbish bin.

I know edgelords only care about Depp/Amber but outside of them, the decision to do nothing about one of the jury being an impersonator is genuinely perplexing and feels like a risky decision. I could understand not rolling back an entire trial and verdict, but surely there should be some fine or fee on the juror who blatantly lied to the court (the son knew it was for his father since he had to enter his father's birth year when confirming) and impersonated someone.

Both sides already KNEW about the issue since the beginning of the trial/pretrial. To not bring it up during jury selection and vetting is to waive ANY claims to be used for grounds of appeal/motion for mistrial after the trial.

No honey, there was no impersonation. The son appeared as himself, filled all his forms with his own birthdate and sh*t. He alone showed up and got his background vetted (questioned by the lawyers on both sides and everything or however they do it in Virginia). Daddy did not participate for one second in any of the proceedings. If any mix-up or deliberate swap thing happened in happened inside the private home, not the court. As far as judge Penney is concerned daddy does not exist.

 

Elaine & co's chance to crosscheck and complain was at the appropriate time. Can't just declare "it was the wrong guy" whenever you like, especially after knowing this information ahead of time. There is a law for this too, and even a precedent:
