Breathe On Moi Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 This is so old school made me love the song more

cyclone Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) I cant tell if the cheap mv is unintentional (the sex offender lawsuit seems to have drained her net worth) or if it was intentional? She seems to be biting off cardi's style, this may be an attempt to make her seem more relatable and "hood" to her white teenage audience. Either way i enjoy the song but the mv has ruined it for me, it looks tacky regardless of the intentions and i hate when she CGI's her waist, she does not need to do this, she is 39 at this point. Kings. Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 Anyway, can someone makes gifs of 2:09-2:11 and 2:49-2:53 please and thank you! Loved how this gave throwback hip hop. Before you needed a huge budget and flashiness to sell a song vs the song just being good.
SIDE2SIDE Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 love the song still but why was this so cheap lol
BeyonSea Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 I don’t like this… The song is still a bop though.
alejandreaux Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 to the people saying the video looks “cheap”, it seems like she was intentionally going for the type of aesthetic that’s commonly used in other popular Drill videos: Drill in general has such a distinct style sonically/visually that warrants its own type of respect and reverence, especially in the New York hip hop scene currently. everything about this song and video is a clear homage to that style.

Theres ways to do it without it looking cheap and tacky tho. The still iphone camera shots with the zooming done in post, the cgi editing around her waist that have her hair defying gravity to contour to her edited shape, the freaking stock footage edited in... i miss the old nicki, shes better than this. I see what the video is going for and it fails miserably, look at the examples and then watch nickis take on it Edited April 19, 2022 by cyclone
bleuwaffle Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 i loved everything about the video, and the song is her best since that last 6ix9ine collab

cyclone Posted April 19, 2022 Posted April 19, 2022 (edited) Ok thats fair, I just wanted to respond to some 14 minutes ago, alejandreaux said: literally just getting the whole team together in a circle with the camera man in the middle with everyone rapping and dancing to the camer The problem is no one in the audience is hype for her at all, if you compare to a recent video of similar style, the crowd in Kay Flock's Shake It vid is hyped to him and cardi. In nicki's video, she is awkwardly standing there and trying to look sexy? But the people in the background seem confused and uncomfortable, it translates to an awkward viewing experience. 14 minutes ago, alejandreaux said: some random effects thrown in here and there lol. CGIing your waist to appear skinnier is not a random effect, its very calculated and intentional to convey a certain image. Its ironic that shes calling other women ugly in the same songh and putting them down, I feel she is insecure. Regardless the visual effects used in the video were giving windows movie maker, with the random poorly timed cuts and filters. In pop smokes video you can see attention was paid to the color grading and cuts. 14 minutes ago, alejandreaux said: Drill it’s more about the energy and impact of the song itself and not the video as much The song itself is not of quality either, nicki has no energy in it. Im just disappointed in her as a long time fan smh It just seems rushed, i dont know why she would put this out other than to compete with Cardi B Edited April 19, 2022 by cyclone

Yeah, you’ve lost the plot Cardi didn’t even have a song announced to be coming until Nicki dropped, and even then this song was teased last fall via IG captions (along with 2/4 other songs she’s dropped this year) I knew you would try and pull this, I was just waiting for you to say so to catch you in an obvious act to go against the grain and be negative when it comes to Nicki
