naval23 Posted April 18, 2022 Posted April 18, 2022 It's #6 on streaming though, why is it so low on Spotify?! I love this bop!

I remember when Iggy actually crossed over to urban and hit #1 in late August/September there but hit #1 in the summer elsewhere but it helped Fancy have longevity I think Fancy peaked at #4 on Urban radio. Royals actually peaked at #1 daily Urban on MB but #3 weekly & on BB. Fancy hit #1 Rhythmic & Royals #2. Fancy did hit #1 on BB's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Genre Chart but not on airplay. Royals peaked higher at Urban radio but BB never let Royals chart on its Urban hybrid chart.

I specifically remember Fancy being #1 because TI also had another hit with Iggy on Urban radio at the time and i remember thinking it was odd how a song would crossover to urban and hit #1. Are there any receipts? I remember it being #1 on all 3 formats, sales, streams, hot 100 and it's one a few rap songs that reached #1 on as many formats. congrats to Latto though.

It seems it peaked at #2 on Nielsen's Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart, which is the equivalent to Mediabase's Urban chart. You can search on her chart history and look that specific chart. https://www.billboard.com/artist/iggy-azalea/

I remember them creating an article about how rare it was for a song to crossover to urban and top the charts but I guess. Well, congrats to Latto.

OK Fancy hit #2 on BB weekly Mainstream R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay (spins) & #4 on BB R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay (audience). Royals peaked at #3 on BB Main R&B/HH (spins) & #3 BB RB/HH (audience) because Royals actually cracked the BB Adult R&B Chart 4 weeks, peaking at 27. So Royals got the boost over Fancy on the audience chart because it got UAC play & Fancy didn't. That's where the 2 v 4 for Fancy comes in @Ger-55. So we're both right to an extent.

I knew I wasn't tripping because i remember billboard making a big deal about the crossover reversal. I'm not sure there's been a hip hop song that crossed over from pop to urban. It was so weird but it gave Fancy longevity Kudos to Latto. I root for her. She's not my cup of tea YEt but if she gives us a commercial Trina then I'll tap in.
