Katamari Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 Can’t even listen to this because of a work issue hopefully we didn’t get hacked
djcalpal Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 This album is STUNNING. Just bought tickets to her London Barbican show!
ATRL Moderator Unoriginal Posted May 20, 2022 ATRL Moderator Posted May 20, 2022 some of this is fine some of it feels unfinished
shookspeare Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 wait is it true that this has been circulating since 2020? I love the album that we got but ***** could have added a couple more songs if it's just been sitting around
beautiful player Posted May 20, 2022 Posted May 20, 2022 2 hours ago, Katamari said: not sure why she dislikes sss so much. Does she consider that her sellout album Probably associates it with a really bad time in her life. She also admits it just wasn't that authentic. Quote “I was in a very hard place in my life,” she says. She had just given birth but she had also separated from her partner, the Grammy-winning producer Jeff Bhaskar. Her mum had died of brain cancer. “It was like all the worst things that can happen, happened.” The album became a way of surviving. It was something for Li to cling to while the world around her atomised. Looking back, Li is both astonished and proud that she managed to pull it off. “I don’t understand how I got it done when I was in so much grief and pain, plus the exhaustion of having a baby.” She finds it interesting that So Sad So Sexy is the album “that sounds the least like me”. Anyway, Over is so ******* good the POWER in her vocals >>>. also the intro really reminds me of WR/YN
jakedavis1994 Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I love the album and I love Lykke but my god this is depressing
TinashesLighter Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 (edited) its an interesting album that i think will take me a few listens (or actually watching all the videos back to back) to really grow on me. at first, NH was the only standout track that hit me while HTYH and Carousel weren't really clicking. When i tell you i woke up from a nap and gave Carousel another listen and.... so beautiful. If its supposed to be an audiovisual project, she should really drop a DVD or the whole thing all together in a repeating loop. Debating buying vinyl/cd just to support her. eta,, OVER?????? she put her whole FOOT in that song. it honestly saddens me to think this would be her last full project or even just her last project centered around love/relationships, she really knows how to hit you where it hurts. Hector Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 This is a smooth listen. I really like u&i, OVER, and CAROUSEL.
pavi Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Had this on constant repeat yesterday while grading exams, it's growing on me so fast
Akhetamen Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Beautiful album. Glad I'm not currently in a phase of my life where sad music does it for me, but it's still such a wonderful listen. My favorites are 5D, Carousel and Highway to Your Heart. Unfortunately a couple songs I felt were a bit repetitive but that's not new with Lykke who makes it work. I missed her voice! I wonder if she plans to release a deluxe or if she will take a long time after this one, considering the album was pretty much finished in 2020 already and she was kind of forced to stall it so that she could tour it once it was possible.
popmusicisdead Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 my god ü&i is stunning too bad half of it is room tone. just like the album
goldstargay Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Listened to this on my walk today and it was even more gorgeous being outside and having this fully immersive experience. The outro to Carousel is giving Enya 1980s sci-fi fantasy Legend elven princess in the forest energy and it is so gorgeous!!
Ghost Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Highway, Happy Hurts, Over... such a perfect and atmospheric album
Frozen99 Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 i don't like no hotel you don't go away a slay highway and happy sounds similarly unfinished .. carousel has a cute production the 'is it only in the movies' part reminds of a song, excellent over was really good ü&i sounds all over the place and the 'outro' is unnecessary.. overall, it's a cute EP, ironically sounds unfinished and rushed i'll def give it more listens but it's disappointing if she's gon end on this one
Vigoorian King Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 Every single song gets better and better with each listen, she knew what she was doing
Edibles. Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 I feel like I'm not depressed enough at the moment to enjoy this at full potential. 5D is such a stellar song. I'm sad she's retiring, but I guess she can live off the I Follow Rivers coins.

Haus Posted May 21, 2022 Posted May 21, 2022 hard rain is arguably my favorite Lykke song and this feels like its evolution. I could only be happier if it were longer. trinity: highway, happy hurts, 5D
