As if the backing track was playing loudly in the background, and then her voice got even louder and appropriately effect-packed over it. In terms of songwriting and vibe, Lykke Li lands somewhere along the lines of Lana Del Rey's "Blue Banisters," except here the Banisters are tin cans - and there's quite a lot of reverb on everything.
beautiful player Posted May 18, 2022 Posted May 18, 2022 Just listened to the l-word, what a stunning album not a single bad track. I'm so glad she's back. Will definitely have this album on repeat for months. initial top 3, imo: 1. you don't go away 2. highway to your heart 3. over
original_lifeline Posted May 19, 2022 Author Posted May 19, 2022 the end of carousel could've easily been a separate interlude-track
original_lifeline Posted May 19, 2022 Author Posted May 19, 2022 well. it's time to play my ssss vinyl to forget this maybe I'm not into the snoozefests anymore. also that u&i ending... 3 minutes of life were wasted for nothing
beautiful player Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 beautiful album, keeps getting better with each listen.

rehceeb Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 carousel sounded like *** to me from the snippet but the full thing is gorgeous and it definitely stands out from the rest of the tracks highway to your heart followed by over are my favorites no replay and skip&skip remain losers the rest is just okay i guess - i wanted to like 5D but the verses and the chorus sound too dissimilar
K$Ellie Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 this was quite boring, it's not terrible but her upbeat songs were usually better and the production on these is pretty dull
VENUSWAVE Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 she did what she had to do also not her coming for oklou's gig at the end of ü&i
BlackJesus Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 She really could have made another 3 minute long song instead of the ending of u&i
stjosephprey4us Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 From yalls posts and her comments on the album’s creation, I’m getting “she rly thought she ate that” vibes oh well, hopefully it will be a grower (and if not lettuce pray she doesn’t retire)
LoveInStereo Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 I adore this album. The overarching theme is magnified by the constraints in fidelity. She’s trapped in an endless cycle of hopefulness that impossible heights of love will be actualized the way she dreams it should be followed by the inevitable heartache of reality. Some parts feel so desperate & lonely & others are so joyous & beautiful. This isn’t gonna be appreciate the way it deserves to be but she masterfully delivered a treatise on life as a romantic soul that can’t get off the carousel of heartbreak. Despite knowing how it’ll all end & it’ll make her miserable, she can’t stop trying for more. The songs are so connected to each other. Magnificent
M.R. Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Why is Bron better than most of this album? It’s definitely time for her to switch to something else because this is her dullest and weakest album.

beautiful player Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 i'm fine with her retiring, she only releases every 4 years anyway so it's not like anyone is really invested in her career. but anyway y'all are being unnecessarily harsh on this album. it's not nearly as bad as ppl are painting it to be
ultraviolence.xx Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 i love this album tbh. ssss era rest in piss
shookspeare Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 whew the SSSS stans having meltdowns, the album must be good then
jesus del rey Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Some of y'all have never listened to grouper and it shows You don't go away and ü&i are career highlights
M.R. Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Nothing on the album is similar to Grouper. Liz would be offended.
