Victoria Monet - F.U.C.K.: Oh, OH, okay. Whew. Adding this to my special playlist as we speak. WHEW. Here. For. It. Whoever put this as their entry, you knew what you were doing.

 Crowning Song

Ethel Cain - Strangers - One of the 3 songs I like from this album, it's a nice song.

Allie X - Girl Of The Year - This was actually quite nice, I quite enjoyed it.

Lily Allen - Chinese - The concept behind this song is cute, the song is alright, not terrible but it's just there.

Kacey Musgraves - Late To The Party - The best song in this category imo, it was lovely, which reminds me I need to listen to this album in full.

Normani - Fair: This makes me angry, because she should've had an album out by now and more songs. IGNORING THAT, I actually like this song. It's solid. It would be good on an album IF THERE WAS ONE.

Posted

FLO - Immature: This is insanely good. This is going on rotation for me after this. I can jam to this whenever, it's just that kind of song. And their voices are great.

Ethel Cain - Strangers: People really seem to like Ethel Cain... I don't quite understand it, but it's a nice song. It's just... okay? I can see it gives some vibes, moods, stuff like that. Sorry to those stans. I like the bridge? It's the best part.

Allie X - Girl of the Year: I can stand by this sound. Is it strange I can see this in Stranger Things? She has a nice voice, and it sounds very fun. I'd listen to it again.

Lily Allen - Chinese: Meh. I've heard worse. I've heard better. Just... meh. Would not lather, rinse, or repeat.

Posted

Kacey Musgraves - Late To The Party: This song was not made for me to listen to it. This is not a song for me. I... could never. I... don't want to say a lot of... things in this review, because it'd be worse than the others, but no, I would not listen to this again.

 A CHANGE IS GONNA COME CRITIQUES

WJSN — Pantomime

All the twists & turns with the production are just fantastic. Has to be the most interesting/complex K-Pop entry I’ve ever heard in ASC. Job well done & what a way to start this Finale!

Lianne La Havas — Green Papaya

The arrangement is a bit jarring at times, but I like it/it makes the song interesting. Can see this ending up towards the middle of my rankings.

Lindsay Lohan — Ultimate

Awwww, this is cute, I enjoyed it. I think I only heard this1 a few times growing up so the “nostalgia factor” may not affect me as much as others.

SASMI — Call Me Home

I can appreciate all the elements that are going on production-wise. Similar to Lianne’s song, it makes it interesting instead of flat/boring. However, I think out of the first batch, this is my least favorite.
