Sanguine Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Tkay Maidza & UMI - Onto Me: Nice, smooth, catchy, not much else to say
Sanguine Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Girls’ Generation - Genie: Some fun elements in the chorus here
Sanguine Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Mura Masa - 1 Night (feat. Charli XCX): Sounds like a song from 2012 revamped Charli-style, and it’s alright
Sanguine Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Sudan Archives - Down On Me: The classical instrumentation carries this, the melody is pretty boring and predictable
touya kinomoto Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 SUNMI - 1/6 - why do i keep getting reminded of Jessica Simpson's A Public Affair throughout the song? take that as a positive because i totally love that song. anyhow, i love the disco influence in this song. i just don't like the pre-chorus. but overall it's probably my fave so far.
Julia Fox Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Anitta - Versions Of Me So generic and with so much going on… maybe worst song this round so far. At start sounds like a Dua song then comes like a trash europop pre chorus, then sounds like a bad k pop song. What is this garota
Sanguine Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 (edited) Anitta - Versions Of Me: Lol, one of the worst albums of the year Edit: wait why am I kinda boppihnghdgf Edited June 5, 2022 by Sanguine
Bicassie Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Mura Masa - 1 Night (feat. Charli XCX) This hasn’t gotten stale after years 9/10
touya kinomoto Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Lauren Jauregui - Don’t Wanna Say - i was thinking if it's worth it to dive in to her solo works but with this song, i don't think i'll be listening to her again.
Julia Fox Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Laura Mvula - Safe Passage this was of the best albums of last year so you know I’m giving points to this. Love Laura, this album and this song, that’s all I’m gonna say. Underrated queen
touya kinomoto Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Tkay Maidza & UMI - Onto Me - this is alright. i just don't like the "inhale exhale" parts. other than that, i quite enjoyed it.
Julia Fox Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Black Honey - Midnight i really like this type of electronic art rock but i find it works when you have a more raspy voice which is not the case of this band's singer… her vocal delivery ruins everything for me, it sounds without attitude and sounds forced which is sad because material wasn’t necessarily bad.
touya kinomoto Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 (edited) Girls’ Generation - Genie - oh wow we had this after a Wonder Girl? what is this, 2010 all over again? anyhow, this is an undeniable classic and one of their bests. them releasing this and Gee in 2009 was a cultural reset. Edited June 5, 2022 by touya kinomoto
Julia Fox Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Jessie J - Abracadabra So many years without listen to this song… it has a very Luke production to the point it sounds like a Katy/Kesha 2010 song but without less electronic elements… it’s fine tbh don’t know if it will receive points but it’s clearly a surprise that i still like this
Sanguine Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Laura Mvula - Safe Passage: Unpopular opinion sorta but I love her vocals there's this crispness to them that works really well with the production
Rotunda Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Safe Passage - Somehow there’s both too much and not enough going on here. Cute album cover though.
Bicassie Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 (edited) YUKIKA - Soul Lady I really like the production on this, might be the best K-POP song so far 8.1/10 Edited June 5, 2022 by Bicassie
touya kinomoto Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Mura Masa - 1 Night (feat. Charli XCX) - hmm i really like Charli but this isn't doing anything for me. like if it was a Crash track, it will be the ultimate pits of that album.
touya kinomoto Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Mura Masa - 1 Night (feat. Charli XCX) - hmm i really like Charli but this isn't doing anything for me. like if it was a Crash track, it will be the ultimate pits of that album.
Rotunda Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Midnight - I liked the second half of this track. May be a grower but idk.
Sanguine Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Black Honey - Midnight: Okay… hm. There’s a lot to dislike about this tbh, can't say I hate those things about it personally cuz the longer it went on I started to enjoy parts of it. Idk prob still won’t give it points but we’ll see
Rotunda Posted June 5, 2022 Posted June 5, 2022 Abracadabra - Jessie J in the game section is kinda a weird choice becuase I know some people are going to lie and say they like this and some are going to lie and say they hate this. As someone who actually likes/liked Jessie’s music this is kinda just perfectly filler to me.
