Dessy Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 India Shawn - MOVIN’ ON (feat. Anderson .Paak) This is serving Silk Sonic regret. Not bad but not standoutish to me
Dessy Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Ethel Cain - American Teenager There are some points that you have made
Dessy Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Mitski - Love Me More Only the chorus is good. I'm sorry
Lucky#17 Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 UMI — Love Affair This is cute; round’s off to a nice start. Nelly Furtado f/ Attitude — Afraid The chorus doesn’t elevate the song for me/lets it down & the outro was ehhh. The beat’s good & I do love Attitude’s verse - that 2000s pre-autotune Rap-on-Pop/Rhythmic-track thing was a TIME. Ahh, I struggle with what I think of this as a whole. Lindsay Lohan — Magnet Usually a sucker for nostalgic submissions but neither this or Afraid really hit the spot. Bad Bunny — El Apagón Loved the production all over this. Bad Bunny & the female singer both were split well in time. Would love to hear this hard-tipsy in a club. Teyana Taylor — Gonna Love Me It ends right when it needs to. Enjoyed it. Tim Atlas — Wallflower In love with the production but the lyrics/vocals don’t excite me as much. I wanna pop out a point for you taking a risk with a male artist but I think there’ll be too many entries I prefer to do so :/ Really hope you don’t get elim’d though. V V Brown — The Apple Crrrrraaaaazzzyy, my sister & I have been watching Degrassi over the last year (re-watch for me) & I constantly tell her how legendary the Shark in the Water/Boiling Point teaser was like the BEST TV teaser of all-time (we’re about to get to that season too, just in time for summer!!!). This is such a shift from SITW but I actually REALLY-REALLY like it. One of those rare ASC moments where I wanna write it down & actually listen after the competition. Ella Mai — Power of a Woman Liked her first album lots but I haven’t heard the new1 as I heard it’s not as strong. This track made for fine background music, but didn’t grip-grip me. India Shawn f/ Anderson .Paak — MOVIN’ ON Hmm... this woulda fared better for me in that “male Rapper”-themed round, if it was released then. Ethel Cain — American Teenager This kind of music usually isn’t my style but there’s something about this song (can’t put my finger on it) that I quite like. Feels effortless. Shygirl — Cleo The strings... the beat that’s constantly sampled… the vocal delivery & engineering… everything just WORKED. Again, writing this down to listen to after the competition’s over. Mitski — Love Me More Well this is lovely! If it doesn’t make my Top10, it came close. Wonder Girls — John Doe Screamin’, not me expecting some somber/melancholic song from the title. This is cute, very Springtime, but I’m not sure if it’s strong enough for this round. Soccer Mommy — Cool Not bad, just not my thing. Azealia Banks — Liquorice Funnily enough, this was the first AB song I’d ever listened to & on first listen I wasn’t feeling it/didn’t get it (I then checked 212 which changed my outlook on music ‘cause I was so in love). Back to Liquorice, overtime I’ve grown to love it. Cheers to a high placement. Hatchie — Til We Run Out of Air ykw I actually didn’t mind the length ‘cause the vocals & lyrics were strong. If it doesn’t make my Top10, it came close. VanJess — Come Over ff; this is fits in a “Chronicles of a Uni Student” playlist so well. Had I known about this earlier, I’m sure my friends & I woulda overplayed it throughout the semester. ROSALÍA — DIABLO Heard lots about the album - still haven’t checked it out aside from some pre-release tracks. This was nice! Janelle Monáe — Cold War Now you did your research just right & dug deep in that memory. Job well done. Red Velvet — BAMBOLEO Eh, didn’t do much for me. MØ — New Moon Aside from the post-chorus, I wasn’t invested with this1. Kali Uchis f/ PARTYNEXTDOOR — fue mejor Wish you took a risk with other ‘Sin Miedo’ tracks but I still like this1 enough to pop out some points. Kilo Kish — AMERICAN GURL Not bad by any means, just couldn’t get into it. Mylène Farmer — Méfie-toi Screamin’, not the last song being the only “hard-hard pass” of the playlist for me. Lemme say that the album artwork is gorgeous though.
Dessy Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Hatchie - Til We Run Out Of Air It's solid. But seeing what's left, it'll probably not make my list
Auburn Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Nelly Furtado - Afraid I’ve always LOVED this as the opener to the album, it’s got dark vibes
Auburn Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Bad Bunny - El Apagón the beginning is kinda annoying, the rest is fine
Auburn Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Teyana Taylor - Gonna Love Me this is a nice vibe, I liked it
Auburn Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Tim Atlas - Wallflower this is pretty good, but is that enough for points this round?
Auburn Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 V V Brown - The Apple I appreciate the art here, I only listened to this album once or twice a long time ago but I need to revisit it cuz I enjoyed this
Auburn Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Ella Mai - Power Of A Woman never been a fan of her voice much, but at least this is more tolerable than Poo’d Up x
Auburn Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 India Shawn - MOVIN’ ON (feat. Anderson .Paak) another strong entry
Dessy Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 VanJess - Come Over You know that fresh breeze of wind that just cut through everything. This that song
Auburn Posted May 19, 2022 Posted May 19, 2022 Mitski - Love Me More I just don’t think this is enough to get points from me this round
