touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Blondie - 11:59 - love the production. it's almost like the pop rock sound of the 80s already. however there is something off with the vocal delivery. like it doesn't match with the production tbh.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Boney M. - A Woman Can Change A Man - this is definitely a song of its time.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Earth, Wind & Fire - On Your Face - it's no Reasons but this is okay. i appreciate the lyrics and the production is still great.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 The Jackson 5 - Ooh, I’d Love To Be With You - i was expecting Michael's vocals to be high-pitched a la ABC but luckily it wasn't. it's like his balls already dropped by this point lol. anyhow, this is a cute song. it's the sultry production that carries this song.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 The Three Degrees - Loving Cup - why does this sound like something that The Muses from Hercules would sing? i enjoyed this.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Sister Sledge - Love Don't You Go Through No Changes On Me - this is sooooo good ugh. i love disco so this will definitely get points from me.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) The Supremes - Early Morning Love - back-to-back disco slayage ugh. i am not really familiar to post-Diana The Supremes discography but if this is their material even without her, ma'am they are serving. touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Queen - Seaside Rendezvous - i was wondering why this is getting panned across the board but the first line alone made me understand right away this is beyond cringeworthy tbh. i wish you luck.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Fleetwood Mac - Songbird - i really don't listen to Fleetwood Mac outside of their classic singles like Rumours and Landslide but i was expecting a bit because i love those songs. this song is... quite alright. i get the critiques that this is a snooze, boring and the likes tho.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) Heart - Love Alive - not the long-ass intro also not the long-ass instrumental in the middle Edited May 15, 2022 by touya kinomoto
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Heart - Mistral Wind - when i read of mistral, i am always reminded of the place where my brother and his family used to live. it's a smelly place as it is quite close to some hog farms so i always can't wait to leave every time i visit them. and listening to this song reminded me that. not even halfway through the song, i wanted it to end.
touya kinomoto Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 (edited) Fleetwood Mac - Storms - this is really boring. i would have appreciated it if it was like Songbird but it doesn't have the charm of the other song. it was also longer than necessary. Edited May 15, 2022 by touya kinomoto
bestfiction Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Blondie - X Offender Amazing The Supremes - Only You (Can Love Me Like You Love Me) Lovely groove! ABBA - Tiger Also pretty lovely but the I AM THE TIGEEER chorus get a bit overbearing towards the end Sister Sledge - One More Time Wait it's a serve too First Choice - Double Cross Cute! Gladys Knight & The Pips - Here I Am Again Good! I thought this round would be turrible but it's shaping out to be the best so far.. Pink Floyd - Wish You Were Here Um idk if I should punish you for sending something as straight as this... but ngl I'm not a huge fan of this overall so yeah.. maybe it works better in the context of the album Earth, Wind & Fire - You And I It's good! ABBA - If It Wasn’t For The Nights Ahh classic ABBA! Sounds like it was a legit hit back in the day Blondie - Pretty Baby Something really carefree about this one Funkadelic - Can You Get To That Ooooh I didn't know Rill Rill is sampled from this! Boney M. - Take The Heat Off Me It's good but I prefer the other songs and this drag on too long I fear Fleetwood Mac - Second Hand News If you wanted to send a Fleetwood Mac song with the man, Never Going Back Again would've been a better pick x I like it still! Love Unlimited - I Did It For Love It's alright, heardly a standout for this round though
