She also released an EP last year under "City Steps" so I'm not sure what she's saying about not having a label... unless she was dropped?

pretty sure it's because The Greatest Showman was an EVENT in the UK. It was a worldwide smash but the album really smashed in the UK, hence Simon saying Never Enough is one of the biggest songs ever. The song wasn't big in the US but it was in the UK. I guess the producers wanted that viral moment

I always thought a lot of people knew the name Loren Allred and that she was the singer of that song. I'm kinda shocked that she said she's unsigned in that statement lmao. 

I don't think it's cringe that she auditioned, but I do feel for the unknown/amateur contestants that will have to compete with her.

No it is her song. It's on her Spotify page and the actress from the movie isn't even credited.

 

OT: I mean sucks for her that she's gotten so overlooked and her career hasn't taken off but it's still wrong for her to audition on a show made to discover unknown talents. She has a famous soundtrack single, 2mil monthly listeners on Spotify, an album out and was already a successful contestant on The Voice years ago. Some girls just aren't meant to become big stars but at least she's already a working industry professional

A lot of people who casually watch the movie would probably think the actress did sing it, or they listen to the Kelly clarkson cover because she’s more well known. She’s doing what she has to do.
