As we all know, a certain picture that I will not post right now is frequently used by OGHs in an attempt to drag Gaga and ''prove'' that she somehow had the biggest decline out of any MPG ever. This picture missed a lot of context. First, OGHs pretend as if all albums on this graph should be at the 35 million range, otherwise she is a ''flop''.

 

But lets argue about how realistic it is to expect an artist to move around the same units for EVERY album. 

 

Even Adele is underperforming with this era and cant keep her old stats up. It would be silly to expect that. Furthermore, a LOT of Gaga's peers have had a decline in their stats which is only natural for an artist to happen. The only exception to this is Rihanna and Taylor, but they have released 1. Way more frequently than Gaga and 2. Rihanna has had her units held afloat by the tons of singles she had each era.

 

Then there are people who want to pretend that Katy Perry somehow didn't have a worse decline than Gaga. HOW exactly, when a soundtrack album has moved more units than Katy's last two albums COMBINED 

 

 

 

 

It seems like Gaga has had massive first two eras, and then after stabilized, with consistency and a dedicated fanbase still buying and streaming her work. So knowing all of this, why is ATRL still so dedicated to somehow ''prove'' that Gaga has had the biggest fall from grace of any MPG, when in reality, she's had a solid stats for years now?

Rihanna’s eras had many singles because the first 2-3 singles always smashed - therefore the label had no reason to stop milking/releasing more. Same reason why Gaga’s eras from Artpop onwards got cut short after the 2nd or 3rd single (bc the first ones flopped or underperformed). So that’s not the good excuse you think it is. 
 

OT: because a lot of her stans claim she’s the biggest pop star on earth, and because none of the albums she dropped after Born This Way (her sophomore) reached 5M worldwide units except for ASIB soundtrack.

Yeah according to ATRL, Gaga's numbers are worse than Katy, because Katy doesn't have a 37M selling album. Lovely logic! 

 

Also the fact that ASIB stomped that hard 10 years into Gaga's career means nothing!

Joanne and Chromatica being Platinum in the USA, both having a hit single and being 3M+ units globally   The way Gaga always has the last LAUGH   And that's with ASIB in between them, I can see why OGH are so unhinged and scrambling at anything to drag the Queen of pop.

So when ARTPOP and Chromatica reach this threshold within the next couple years what's the next goalpost?  And expecting jazz albums to perform on par with mainstream releases

She is a triple threat, she is quadruple threat. She is every icon. She is the most iconic star of our times. So of course every one else here is just jealous of her.

I don’t think Gaga is the biggest artist out there at all and I don’t think most LM do either. In fact I have said many times that I felt Katy was bigger than Gaga around 2013-2014. But the fact is Gaga recovered and has stabilized stats while Katy doesn’t.

I'm a casual fan and not a stan myself, but I can see that gays of other girls are mad that she's achieved more than the big standard pop girl. Gaga has won Oscars, has 10+ Grammys, multiple classic smashes, hit albums, successful soundtracks that only Whitney come close, had her own performance show at the SuperBowl, sounds good in every genre (jazz, r&b, pop, rock) and she has dipped into the movie industry successfully with hit movies and acclaimed awards. She's literally achieved almost everything an entertainer can. The only thing missing is an EGOT title and she'll win that Emmy and Tony sooner or later too.

 

On top of that, she's super talent, can sing her heart out and is also naturally funny and charismatic.

Cause she is the biggest artist on this forum by A LOT, no other girl comes even close. Also it doesn't help that most of these toxic stans faves would kill to be 1/100th of how acclaimed and impactful Gaga is so jealousy plays a big factor too
