Ppl are dumb comparing this album to 21. That was a complete different time period and era for Adele and the music industry. Although this era is for sure an underperformance for Adele brand as a whole. I don’t expect 30 to be top 2 but at least top 20 for sure. I think the music and Vegas shows hurt her. She should’ve promoted better and she shouldn’t have canceled her Vegas shows. Hopefully she releases a new album soon instead of taking another 5 year break.

Maybe she should have remained humble and not acted like a spoiled brat. She has gone from being one of the most liked artist to barely having any redeeming qualities in such a short time.

Could you imagine trying to do business with someone like her. Just canceling because she just doesn't feel like doing it anymore or because she is having a fight with her BF. Highly unprofessional and gross behavior from Adele this past year.

Pride comes before the fall. All this talk of "Ed should be worried not me, ha!", "They don't make stars like me and others from my generation anymore", "I cancelled my residency a day before when people had already flown because 'my heart wouldn't have been in it'", the hogging the vinyl factories thinking they would sell like last time, diva tantrum when an Australian reporter had not listened to her album....it all catches up to you.

The public has seen through her I'm just a regular cockney mum just like you, what's a Tik Tok?? act and the petulant, spoiled diva beneath has emerged. It takes a lot of ego, disregard for others and selfishness to cancel a residency one day before it was due to begin because you couldn't put on a smile for a performance that you were being paid millions for.

DEMOTED! from Michael Jackson level mega-seller to just another successful pop star, well below the top albums of recent years like FN, Sour, After Hours in overall units and the gap will only get bigger as its stalling on streaming. Her next album is going to give Norah Jones career trajectory teas.

Totally agree with this, and I also think what she's offering just isn't unique anymore. When she first came out you had Gagas & Katys ruling the industry, much of her appeal was basically being "not like the other girls".

Now you have virtually everyone doing the "relatable, ballad-focused, etc" thing, there's no need to go to Adele when Gen Z has girls like Olivia who are basically offering the same thing she is but better.

It is funny to hear people say she did the same thing, it's precisely because she did not that streams don't follow. If the album had a SLY, WWWY or some of those awful ballads 25 is full of that the GP tend to like, it would be getting more streams.

Exactly. This is her best, most unconventional album. The haters are just looking for something to say.

That said, this is embarrassing for Adele. Literally one performance at the Grammys or some other major US stage could have vaulted a second single to the top of the charts and floated the album for months. She had so much goodwill and she just blew it when all she needed to give was the most minimal amount of effort.

The way the Swifties started this feud then they come running into every Adele thread trying to drag and going off topic, truly pathetic. :shakeno:

Anyways, Adele for sure needs to put more effort into this era to try and salvage it… I mean she didn’t even perform on SNL or the Grammys. :katie:

sweetie, the oths hiding behind Adele started this and ignited it even more when Tay changed the released date, and then during Red's first week and the days following it when the charts got announced...

What does "yeets" mean?

It is not showing much longevity but it already sold enough. The songs are not commercial at all.

This. I hate the album but she definitely tried something new. She missed but at least she swung

Tragic! Serves her right for not serving a disco alberm!

Yea

she should've released 16 different versions of the album cover and release signed copies every week like Taylor did

When you put this way though :rip: You kind of spilled.  At least Adele got a hit, something Taylor hasn't really had since Style :lmao:

Both Folklore and 30 will chart in 50s this week when Folklore is 70 weeks older than 30 and none of them had any signed copies or multiple versions this week.

And how was Style a hit but Bad Blood, LWYMMD or IDWLF wasn't? :rip:

And still outcharting artists with so called GP support. How sad :lakitu:

Quite shocking, at least compared to what everyone expected five months ago.

Perhaps less so, knowing all that has since transpired.

Joanne was super divisive and Gaga was in a rough spot after ARTPOP. 30 is following 21 and 25. This is really bad for Adele tbh.

I can't believe that Joanne is outcharting an Adele album. If one more person calls Joanna a flop, then so is Adele's 30. I don't make the rules, it's just logic.:jonny3:

EOM was huge and doing all the push alone. However, all hope is not yet lost since there are a few hit-worthy candidates left on the album that can salvage the era and turn it around. They need to push Cry Your Heart Out or I Drink Wine and make sure it serves SML longevity. They need to ACT QUICK too!
