That debate continues to be had here and I look at it as a case-by-case basis. In Kanye's case, if you include not taking his meds for bipolar disorder and playing into Republicans plans as a spoiler in 2020, I see it as more than just trolling to move units, especially as some of his fanbase is unhinged and won't translate that he just wants attention. While on the subject, there's too much deflecting to his mental illness on here. As someone with a relative who died from complications due to schizophrenia, there's degrees of control and he knows many of the things he's said and done are wrong. A clearly ****ed-up relationship with his ex with which he shares kids aside (which will hopefully catch up to him when they're fully grown) he doesn't have any major criminal charges against him and puts on a better live show than The Weeknd, imho. But on the other hand, for excusing DeBaby and Marilyn prior to any court case completion and for seriously considering bringing Travis on stage who is many respects should be charged for negligence alone from Astroworld (even though he won't), that puts things over the edge and I can't bother with his catalog I've enjoyed prior, especially later work ripped from Arca and Death Grips anyways. Imho.

pokerfaceboy Posted April 15, 2022 Posted April 15, 2022 I will be at Weekend 2 (was also at W2 in 2018) and can tell you the resale prices always dip each year around this time. People have passes, can't make it, realize it's not in their budget, so they just want to get some of the money back. Even in 2018 with Beyoncé as a headliner the resale prices were in the mid 300s for Weekend 2. Sure, Kanye dropping out two weeks ago had a bit to do with the drop but honestly wouldn't consider it a loss. Attendees and most of the GP don't really look at resale prices as being a measure of relevancy or success. The festival holds 125,000 attendees per weekend, and is sold out from Coachella itself. And I can tell you after a 2+ year break due to COVID people (including myself) are very happy to be back!
