Lovett Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 I'm really rooting for Michelle Yeoh to win BA, because she massively deserves it. Her performance in EEAAO was just exceptional.
Donquizote Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Saying there's a better perfomance than Cate in Tar last year is definitely a choice
Donquizote Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Collin, Quan, Cordon and Cate will be the best acting winners combo at Oscar this century We love to see it
family.guy123 Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 How do you “objectively” determine what the best of the year is, performance or film wise
Riot Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 RRR seems to have lost all the momentum that those early critics groups' awards created. This is definitely great news for Rihanna and Gaga for the BOS Oscar.
Donquizote Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Watch Diane Warren sneaks herself into BOS nomination again this year

Michelle should win and the race isn’t over but I won’t be surprised if the Oscars prefer to give a white actress a 3rd just like they did twice to Viola.

At some point it comes down to what you see as the "ideal" performance... which is subjective.
Alyssa Edwards Posted January 8, 2023 Posted January 8, 2023 Yeoh is in the Best Picture frontrunner, Miss Cate isn't so, so far i'd still give the edge to Yeoh.

Donquizote Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Quote Babylon premiered in Los Angeles on December 15, 2022, and was released in the United States on December 23, 2022, by Paramount Pictures. The film polarized critics, who generally praised the cinematography, editing, score, and performances, but were divided on its screenplay, direction, graphic content, and runtime. It was a box-office bomb,[6] but received five nominations for the 80th Golden Globe Awards, including Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, and nine nominations at the 28th Critics' Choice Awards, including Best Picture. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Babylon_(2022_film) Wiki just updated Babylon as box office bomb
D/X Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 (edited) The way Babylon is fading lmao... poor Damian. Is it really that polarizing or bad? Aside, I began this season being bored by the idea that Cate could win yet again, and now I'm fully rooting for her and Tár. The film and her performance are exceptional. Edited January 9, 2023 by D/X
R.E.M. Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Damn I remember the rumblings last year that Babylon would be huge and secure Margot's Oscar
