Out of 23 films I saw at TIFF, bar none, this was the absolute worst film I saw. I love Paul Mescal. I scoured tickets for this. It ended up being a pretentious art house film where, no exaggeration, nothing happens. 90 minutes of two people on vacation with no plot, premise, conflict, or buildup. The RT rating is baffling.
Riot Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 The Golden Globes will add new categories in the TV section: Best Supporting Actor / Best Supporting Actress (Drama or Comedy) Best Supporting Actor / Best Supporting Actress (Limited Series)

Lovett Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Quote Harry Styles, Emma Corrin and My Policeman Cast Will All Go Supporting for the Oscars Amazon Studios is moving forward with an awards push for director Michael Grandage’s romantic drama My Policeman, despite mixed reviews out of the Toronto Film Festival, where it received an ensemble tribute. Variety has learned exclusively that Amazon will be submitting the entire cast, which includes music superstar Harry Styles and Emmy nominee Emma Corrin, all in the supporting categories for Oscar consideration. https://variety.com/2022/awards/actors/harry-styles-emma-corrin-my-policeman-oscars-1235388303/
State of Grace. Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 (edited) Isn't Harry literally the lead in My Policeman? What in the category fraud is happening this year Good luck booking those Supporting noms! Edited September 29, 2022 by State of Grace.
LastKiss Posted September 29, 2022 Posted September 29, 2022 Welp if Rooney Mara got a supporting nom being the LEAD actress in Carol with 1h10mins of performance I don't see why others can't do the same But as if Harry would get nominated anyway
hausofdave Posted September 29, 2022 Author Posted September 29, 2022 i guess this is what his team considers his ASIB moment
Green Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I just saw the TÁR trailer. Well, Cate is coming hard for her 3rd Oscar. Oh Michelle what have you done From #1 predicted in Supporting to #5 in Lead Actress predictions
McNulty Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Let's hope Michelle pulls a LaKeith and get nominated for BSA
Donquizote Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 Michelle Yeoh is about to have another box office hit this year don't know she's also cast in Avatar 2.
Donquizote Posted September 30, 2022 Posted September 30, 2022 I think AMPAS might pass on Chazelle this time around. Babylon looks like a box office bomb and I won't be surprised if it did <70% on RT and metacritic. This will be the first movie from Chazelle that bombed both critically and commercially. Also another bomb for Ms Robbie

fridayteenage Posted October 1, 2022 Posted October 1, 2022 The Best Actress nominees should be: Everything Everywhere All at Once Fabelmans Woman King Till I Wanna Dance with Somebody

Coming for an Oscar nom less than a year after being "banned?" Mayhap.
Donquizote Posted October 2, 2022 Posted October 2, 2022 Based on the early reviews we've been getting, perhaps Deadwyler will be critic's choice this year
