Like there's a dozen+ other performances that had hype at some point and some of us can only pit the two Asians together to uplift the white woman with 2 Oscars already That member always has that racist undertones against woc basically every time i see them in this forum

Apparently there's rumors swirling that Jessica Lange's Long Day's Journey Into Night is premiering at TIFF. Imagine her joining Cate (hopefully) and Frances with 3 acting wins whew

fridayteenage Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 the main thorn is that it's a woc directed film starring a woc. So far there's been one lead actress who was nominated with that obstacle, and she was playing undeniable historical icon and hero Harriet Tubman.

Alyssa Edwards Posted February 13, 2023 Posted February 13, 2023 What's this praise around Tang Wei ? She did a good job at being quiet, enigmatic and emotive when she needed to be but she's no Han Ye-Ri.

EnigmaticAndroid Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 Tbh I truly think The Color Purple could (or will ) win BP next year. If it lives up to it's potential, it could be a perfect storm.
fridayteenage Posted February 14, 2023 Posted February 14, 2023 well since 1970 one musical won. and purple's awards history at the tonys isn't amazing; a total of 3 wins from 2 productions.
