can't believe Williams actually got in despite SAG & BAFTA snub yet Deadwyler got the boot

Racist voters ignoring DTL because they probably thought it was another Parasite. We lost

POC snubs in the category will help Icon Yeoh

Though I'd say Tár also overperformed

Yeah Viola and Danielle OUT is also Cate's downfall :ahh:

If the backlash is big enough then it could help tip Michelle over the edge but I’m not sure enough Oscar voters will care tbh

how did ana snag a nom. i saw some of her marilyn impersonations on twitter and she didn’t serve. i was shocked people are raving about her acting when she didn’t embodied marilyn at all. a fraud:biblionny:

Does having EEAAO having so many noms hurt Michelle in BA?

No. It does hurt the lesser categories tho.

If they're gonna nominate zero black actresses the least they can do is award Yeoh and make history :toofunny2: Still love Cate but come on

you do know that Williams got history backing her up? I mean it's like her 5th or 6th nomination. you can't expect the academy to forget about her over a newbie like it's nothing. you also have to take into account the reputation. i knew she would get in no matter what.

the one who swept Danielle's spot is Ana.

Ooooh mess at Best Actress :deadbanana2: maybe this means Yeoh can get more momentum now that she's like the sole POC nom? Unless Andrea payola's her way into beating her AND Cate :bibliahh:

It's so wild how much hollywood is pushing him hard :lmao:

Although his portrayal of depression is one the most understated I've ever seen but it didn't warrant a lead oscar nom.

I just saw DTL in the surprise premiere last night where literally half of the audience walked out at some point so not surprised. :dies:

I thought it was fine but easily one of his lesser movies? Only the direction was great.

Close should have been snubbed too though. The s-word made zero sense in that movie so I couldn’t take anything that happened serious. :rip:

So when is the backlash starting
