This is… interesting. Not bad but not great either unfortunately. Sucker Punch>>>>

I definitely appreciate the more experimental songs tho ala It Gets Dark, Dancer, Mistake Like You and Grow

Meh, Mirror is still the best by far. And maybe I'll keep A Driver Saved My Night, it really goes downhill after it.

This is… not what I was expecting. Not bad but just not really memorable, excluding the first 3 singles.

Sucker Punch >>>

Inch resting reactions, I think it's a decent album but not bad necessarily, specially from the winner of BBC Music Sound who released her debut album with awful lines like:

Both our hoodies red, you're in my head / The airline lost my luggage, Still got all this weight”.

I like the fact that it's 70's / 80's inspired, some Fleetwood Mac, Elton John, ABBA, etc vibes in here. But not exactly a rip-off? I actually enjoyed the ballads in this, compared to the ones included in the Raw - EP.

Again, it's definitely not AOTY for me but it’s cool to see that she matured in a way.

initially i wasnt sure but AMAZING ALBUM sis, the absolute vast improvement from debut and step into right direction, she is here to stay.

fav: Mistake Like You, Dancer, Thank Me Later, It Gets Dark

At first listen, I like this more than how I liked Sucker Punch at first listen. That album was a grower for me so this one might be the same.

I didn't like the ballads from her first but I'm enjoying the ones in this so that's a good sign. A Drived Saved My Night also sounded nice.

she made the right single choices imo

a driver saved my night was a highlight

A Driver Saved My Night is a smash waiting to happen :jonny5:

overall it was a very cute album, still too early to compare it to her debut. the single choices have been perfect for sure.

a little underwhelming imo. her debut has very high highs but unfortunately this album had none

It's actually really a cute album. Kinda hard to compare it to the debut since both are very different.

As the other user said the inspiration is really apparent, imo she really did a great job

honestly i feel like it gets dark is her best song, never mine is the only one that can compete for me, so i really think this album is a great improvement over her debut. sucker punch was a good album, but this feels like a natural progression. genuinely the only song i don’t like is bad life…and i really don’t understand its inclusion on the album. like it’s on the physical editions right? feels like a last minute add-on attempting to boost streams a bit and i don’t think she needs it really.

anyway, my faves are: it gets dark, burning bridges, risk of getting hurt, and a driver saved my night. part of me feels like maybe it gets dark would have been a better closer than high note? i don’t know, need to sit with the album for a while. overall though i’m very happy to see her growth and see how she progresses going forward!

Vinyl pressings with the previous artwork are being sold on her website, if anyone's into that:

Overall not as strong as her debut, but it’s a solid effort (and this is coming from a big fan of hers who has seen her live multiple times).

Outside of the singles, Thank Me Later and A Driver Saved My Night are great, the rest seem a little lacklustre and forgettable, but including the singles, it’s a good album. Maybe I set my expectations a bit too high.

As a big Sigrid fan I do love this, but it's not as instant as Sucker Punch. Still amazing though, I'd give it 8/10 maybe.

It's a very solid pop record. I haven't disliked any of the songs and I think all of them are enjoyable enough not to be skipped. I prefer this over her debut.

high note is really cute

also my 'orange vinyl' arrived and it's red, oh naur:deadvision:

thank me later's chorus really reminds me of a song but i can't put my finger on it:duck:

Thank Me Later is a COLLAPSE:WAP::WAP:

Her debut did more new things but this is a lot more consistent, though a bit less distinct sonically. But I do think I like this more than Sucker Punch on first listen.
