Well we know she reveres artists of the 90s when you could leave and come back after big gaps but even then they’d release a full project. When the Motivation video dropped every artist and fan base was watching her, that was a great start no matter what she says about the song or video. She had everyone’s attention. Even with the peak it had (even then they messed up promo) had she kept going and gave us some of the tracks she had been working on then with visuals showed the audience she was here to grind she would have popped off by now or cultivated a larger following. I understand what she said to Ebro when Fair dropped about not releasing during the motivation era but I still think that was a big mistake for her overall.

anyway I’m here and still hungry for this album chile, if Normani is still in this she’ll do what she has to do if not oh well

All eyes were on her during motivation it was truly insane

The thing is, when you look at 90s artists for example:

Toni Braxton and Brandy had 2 albums in the 90s but the eras were long (since longer eras were standard back then). Singles came back to back depending on how dominant the previous single was.

Normani really has no excuse to delay another single since Wild Side has finally fallen off entirely and Fair gained no traction. Time to keep it moving.

Last thing, Normani not dropping an EP after Motivation, IF THINGS DO NOT TURN AROUND, may become the moment her career fell off. She didn’t capitalize on her hot streak at all. The following single after Motivation might have been the breakthrough solo single (that her team, label, whoever is causing the extra delays wanted), using the hype she had then.

Backed then we didn’t think Motivation would be her peak. I still have a hope she can deliver an even better visual and song that can put her back on the GP’s radar. It only takes one song to change everything.

Motivation isn't her peak, Wild Side is. Artistically, on the charts and financially.

I should clarify, I don’t think Motivation was her peak. However her GP interest was maxed out around then. The only other time I saw people (from different industries) really gagged and interested in her was after Love Lies at the BBMAs. Wild Side video drop was good, but it did not feel the same to the other two moments.

Normani had models, actors, other musicians, directors, companies, and more obsessed with her after Motivation, GLOBALLY. It just felt like the momentum for an album or EP made the most sense there. She can get back there, but it’s going to take work and promotion which her label/team/whatever have not proven they are interested in doing yet.

She was coming back from Ariana Grandes most successful world tour and Ariana even co wrote it so I’m sure that helped get more eyes on her at that time. We’re far from seeing her peak I think she’s going to have a trajectory similar to Ariana not as huge obviously. Meaning that she is going to get bigger every album instead of having one huge album and then lose popularity like Billie.

So I guess the album is not 10 weeks away? Lol

Even though Fair didn’t do much, I’m confident a full body of work (assuming there’s multiple high profile current features like Cardi) will gain traction and have a great debut, at least on AM. Especially if there’s bangers. It just needs to come out.

I agree with all those saying just release an album, so people have a body of work to go by and get a feel for the direction she's going

I still see it for her and one thing is I never see it for people for such a long time. Like there is a lane that’s specifically missing in the music industry and it’s Normani. Fun music to get ready and dance to. I agree she needs a manager who is more strong willed and force her to release. Work her hard because the last thing I’d hate is her making momentum and doing what Miley did during the Bangerz era, you just never recover from some decisions. Brandon was okay transitioning, I just don’t see him knowing how to manage a superstar. Everything he does seems like pure luck and never intentional.

She’s afraid her album is going to flop because she’s being blackballed behind the scenes :gaycat6:

No she’s afraid to release because of the overwhelming support she gets from her label and management. Every time she releases they run through walls to make sure her music gets heard.

That’s blackballing

Exactly. It never feels like a coordinated strategy being done.

Like why didn’t they force Fair to be the AMI Paris song for the announcement of the brand deal? It fit the theme of the video perfectly. Small coordinated things go a long way when you add them up. (That’s something a manager could push for btw. It’s not a unrealistic ask.)

It’s so strange to me to even see someone say this given the current state of her career….

Never releasing a debut album is infinitely more embarrassing than releasing a flop debut album so she truly has nothing to lose at this point :toofunny2:

In my mind in some fantasy

She released an album in 2019 with Motivation as the lead single.

Tacks on Love Lies, DWAS, Waves, Motivation = 2.1B streams for her debut easy.

The album and the hit singles and features promotes and pushes Waves past 100M streams too. Let the second and third single do its job. The album debuts top 5 with at least 78K first week and goes Gold by the time album 2 rolls out.

Diamonds in between that era for the soundtrack. Takes a year break after tour and comes back with Wild Side and so on.

Also didnt Brandon sign Anitta after Normani and her album just came out this year.

It will be embarrassing if she doesn’t release this month when she was literally saying she would in every interview throughout April

Idc at this point if it’s flop I’m more concerned by the quality if the album isn’t a 10/10 I will be super disappointed :gaycat6:
