I won’t harp but consistency is not having a marquee client whose releases you can barely help book anything for.

Her fans had to campaign on twitter for her to get a VMAs spot for a top 15 song. Where was his “clout” then?

Chloe released just one solo this year and yet she stays booked.

All this praise for Brandon but It’s funny because Brandon himself is entirely inconsistent. So much so that recently

Jacob Banks left him

Bazzi left him

Lauv left him

and every artist managed under his failed company “Brandon Management” pre- Normani:

Bonnie McKee

Jahkoy

Mighty Mike

Aaron Fontwell

Kolaj

All left. Anitta’s saving grace is that she self-managed her career into Brazilian superstardom so he is hardly the common denominator.

Brandon has had so much business fall through that it’s no surprise that Normani’s music career is where it’s at.

Fair rollout was botched as the follow up to Wild Side.

Finally someone exposes Brandon. He’s awful, but no one wants to admit it. The Anitta analysis was spot on too. My friend is a MEGA Anitta fan and he didn’t understand why Anitta was signing to S10 in the first place given how far she got self-managing.

Brandon also mishandled Anitta big time. Evolver was not pushed by him and S10, and there was discussion that it would flop if it was a single. Anitta pushed for it, pushed to get Aliya Janell  (who I wish would work with Normani for years now) as a choreographer for the video, and a viral challenge was born organically.

Once it was already viral and smashing, Brandon made some moves with it. He’s relatively useless.

Anitta did self manage, but that was when she worked mainly in Brazil and LatAm. That’s why it was possible. She needed a manager overseas. I don’t think Brandon is this useless person y’all think he is, he has plenty of connections. Normani simply doesn’t release music, that’s why nothing else happens

I mean it's hard for her manager to do anything when she releases one song a year and cancels schedule appearances/performances :rip:

Brandon clearly isn’t the best. Wildside rollout was messy. I don’t know why she had to beg to be on the vmas. She hd a few magazine covers but The Tommy Hilfiger Collab being scrapped was confusing. And the Jimmy Fallon show cancellation was terrible. Then no other performances after that.

Fair isn’t much better she had the late night tv performance but no video. She did radio interviews which was good. But it’s just weird.

I don't get why people are acting like we can't think Brandon's not a great manager and that he shouldn't be scapegoated as the source of all her problems when her biggest problem is her and RCA's refusal to put out any music.

Sure managers may be in the room when the conversations about music releases happen, but ultimately that decision is RCA's. If they don't want to put something out, Brandon can't force them to. Does he often drop the ball on promo when she does put stuff out? Yeah. But she has a way more obvious problem than that, which is that she releases 1 song per year on average :rip:

Like I promise you you've lost the plot if you think that I of all people am defending Brandon :dies: I just don't see the point of turning this into a Brandon hate circlejerk when her only music releases since July 2021 have been a slow R&B song and a feminist redux of Take Me Out To The Ball Game :deadbanana4:

I don't wanna be mean because I really like her but once again Normani showed zero personality, except the usual diva-esque one. If there was no Normani in this video she wouldn't be missed at all lol

Not the Brandon defense squad arriving. As usual. Can’t critique her manager, can’t critique the label. Guess Normani’s music is just magical holding itself hostage, not using social media at all (not even a social media manager keeping the feed fresh), not doing any promotions, major brand deals start then we never hear of them again, etc.

It’s all magically derailing itself. Maybe Normani is just blacklisted? :giraffe:

Her recent (as in tonight) likes and retweets make it seem like she’s the one holding the single back ddd:

She’s afraid her album is going to flop because she’s being blackballed behind the scenes :gaycat6:

She needs to just drop it. Who cares if it flops? It'll still advance her career. Look at Chloe x Halle. Ungodly Hour flopped but JUMPSTARTED them into the eyes of the public

Never releasing a debut album is infinitely more embarrassing than releasing a flop debut album so she truly has nothing to lose at this point :toofunny2:

The insider I’ve talked about in here a few times posted a tweet saying “hate when the label delays things..” , there you go, we’re getting nothing this month

Stop that blackballed nonsense. There is absolutely no reason for Normani to blackballed. The only people blackballing Normani is Normani and her incompetent team.

Oh lord.

Anyways, the single probably is coming in the next couple weeks. She was acting like this before Motivation too (liking all these dramatic tweets).

Normani (her label, team, ALL of em) has to realize, one single is not going to make her hot. She needs to go back to back to back with the bops, visuals, and build a brand/world people can get lost in. It’s similar to that award show discussion we had the other day. The music industry is a lot more about quantity than quality these days.

Artists who keep dropping/promoting and don’t let one or two flops hold them back, see the benefits long term (meaning, they can at least fill a theatre tour, still get big brand deals, get to crossover into TV/acting, etc.). People who don’t drop, get forgotten or lose hype. It’s that simple. Play the game or get left behind.

Well we know she reveres artists of the 90s when you could leave and come back after big gaps but even then they’d release a full project. When the Motivation video dropped every artist and fan base was watching her, that was a great start no matter what she says about the song or video. She had everyone’s attention. Even with the peak it had (even then they messed up promo) had she kept going and gave us some of the tracks she had been working on then with visuals showed the audience she was here to grind she would have popped off by now or cultivated a larger following. I understand what she said to Ebro when Fair dropped about not releasing during the motivation era but I still think that was a big mistake for her overall.

anyway I’m here and still hungry for this album chile, if Normani is still in this she’ll do what she has to do if not oh well
